The Opportunity

We have one full-time position available for a Maintenance Engineer / Handyperson to support all aspects of the hotels Engineering function. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow and advance your career in Australia's first Luxury Collection Hotel.

We're looking for an experienced technician who can manage and support the ongoing maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the building across mechanical and electrical services, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, fixtures, fittings and equipment of the hotel.

Key Accountabilities

• You will be responsible in managing day-to-day maintenance requirements working with the Chief Engineer
• Complete daily plant inspections
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of engineering equipment, basic diagnostic skills and general construction knowledge is an advantage.
• Basic IT skills are essential in this role to keep engineering systems and records updated.
• General handyperson duties, including minor carpentry, plumbing and HVAC
• Ensure exceptional service delivery when attending to guest requests for maintenance repairs. Good general presentation essential.
• Establish and maintain positive customer and business relationships
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20kg without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Support the department achieve team objectives and deliverables
• Work collaboratively with internal departments
• Be a brand ambassador and reflect our core values
• Other duties as required

Profile

• Experience working in a similar position (preferably hotel setting)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive and solutions focused
• Master in time management and organizational skills
• Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building
• Demonstrate sound decision-making capability and able to work autonomously.
• Available to work a full 8am -5pm 7-day rotating roster as required for this role
• Full working rights in Australia
