Hardware Design Engineer (m/f/d) – Rotational Rheometers

      Site: Karlsruhe

      Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Hardware Design Engineer to join our development team for the next generation of high-precision rotational rheometers. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic key components to enable ultra-low torque generation, high-resolution axial force measurement, and precise rotary encoder integration.

A particular focus lies in the circuit design for multiprocessor platforms based on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and real-time processors from the TI C2000 series. Your contributions will be vital to the performance and long-term innovation of our systems—used in sophisticated industrial and scientific environments around the world.

      Your Responsibilities:

      • Design of analog, digital, and power electronic circuits for high-dynamic drive systems

      • Design and optimization of EMC-compliant motor power stages for PMSM and asynchronous motors to achieve very low torques and deformations

      • Development of signal conditioning and sensor electronics for high-resolution axial force measurement and optical encoder systems

      • Hardware design for multiprocessor architectures with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and TI C2000 real-time controllers

      • PCB layout and design using Altium Designer

      • System integration, lab verification, commissioning, and user documentation

      • Close collaboration with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams

      • Technical coordination with external development partners and manufacturing service providers

      Your Profile:

      • Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a comparable technical field

      • Several years of experience in developing complex electronic systems for measurement, control, or drive technology

      • Strong expertise in power electronics, precise analog and digital circuit design, and electric motor control (PMSM and asynchronous motors)

      • Practical experience with sensor systems, signal processing, and multiprocessor hardware development

      • Proficiency with EDA and simulation tools such as Altium Designer and LTspice

      • Solid understanding of EMC-compliant design and industrial manufacturing requirements

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English

      Your Strengths:

      • Structured and analytical approach with a passion for technical depth

      • Attention to detail, reliability, and a strong sense of ownership

      • Teammate with excellent interdisciplinary communication skills

      • Passion for innovative solutions and emerging technologies

      What we offer:

      • Employment with an innovative, future-oriented organization

      • Outstanding career and development prospects

      • Company pension scheme and other fringe benefits

      • Exciting company culture which stands for integrity, intensity, involvement and innovation
