- Assists in providing oversight and leadership to Peraton and subcontractor team members in the HMD department and collaborates with other WSC department managers to maintain a high level of system proficiency and availability.
- Manages the HMD department in the absence of the HMD manger.
- Analyzes failure trends, parts sparing, and provisioning, to ensure equipment downtime is minimized.
- Ensure employee conformance to established practices and provide proper training of staff.
- Prepare reports and audits current procedures to ensure compliance with the contract. Develop, maintain, and report technical performance metrics, which effectively measure the level of performance.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance, repair, and service work.
- Maintains stock levels and parts within budget.
- Creating reports for maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for Peraton and NASA management.
- Oversees and supervises the quality of work for other employees to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.
- Prepares and presents presentations to Peraton and NASA management. Responds quickly and precisely to requests for information from NASA.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or other related technical field and 6 years of relative work experience, or Associate degree in related technical field and 8 years of relative work experience. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of additional technical experience may be considered.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25 to 30 pounds.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Existing Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Hardware Maintenance Depot (HMD) Deputy Manager/Supervisor in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the National Aeronautics (NASA) White Sands Complex (WSC) to support the NASA Space Relay. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the HMD Dept. Manager leading a team of HMD Field Engineers and Line Maintenance Technicians (LMTs) who maintains and sustains all WSC ground station equipment to include hardware, software, and firmware. Provides leadership for a team responsible for hardware maintenance services which may include re-installation/modification of existing equipment, preventive, and corrective maintenance, as well as replacement of equipment as needed.
Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.

Target Salary Range
