  About the role

  We are delighted to announce that we are on the lookout for HcD Technicians to join our Team based just outside Lae, Papua New Guinea. This is a FIFO expatriate role from either Cairns or Brisbane. You will work a 16 days on and 12 days off rotating days and nights. Only candidate who are Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered for these role.

  Our Hypercharge™ units are incredible pieces of machinery which are used to load blast holes with explosive chemicals. Our Hypercharge™ Technicians are highly skilled and mechanically minded individuals who are responsible for providing maintenance and reliability for these charge up systems (Hypercharge™ Units).

  This position has a wide range of accountabilities; therefore, the incumbent will have a sound knowledge of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical technical disciplines relating to fixed and mobile plant.

  You must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency to be considered for this role.

  What you will bring

  • You must have demonstrated experience as an Underground Charge Up Operator/Shotfirer to be considered;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining mobile/fixed plant;
  • Previous exposure to Orica systems and processes;
  • Ability to effectively lead and train small groups;
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Willing to travel around PNG and Pacific Islands.
  • Proven mechanical & electrical troubleshooting skillset.
