      Job Purpose

      Drive Balance Sheet optimisation, embedding best practice within the Subsidiaries and ensuring reporting to Stakeholders. To provide technical oversight on complex financial activities through consulting, advising and guiding the stakeholders. To educate stakeholders on appropriate application of tools, techniques, policies and approaches to balance sheet management, financial management, analysis and planning.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Drive Capital optimisation across Nedbank Africa Regions (NAR) portfolio, including statutory capital, ECAP and RWA (Capital levels, ratios and plans)
      • Drive cluster strategic ambition through subsidiary forum representation, ensuring compliance to risk appetites & limits (Liquidity Risk and IRRBB models) as well as governance and compliance to ALM risk management practices by subsidiaries
      • Provide insights and analysis to inform Business strategy and evaluate and monitor Capital plans
      • Drive the rollout and maintenance of FTP within each subsidiary through leveraging group capability
      • Embed group best practice and co-ordinate ICAAPS, Recovery Plans and Capital Plans for submission to group
      • Facilitate group policy adoption, attestation and compliance within the subsidiaries
      • Drive the adoption and implementation of the Transfer pricing policy and process for NAR
      • To provide accurate, reliable and timeous financial input to enable effective decision making through proactive engagement with stakeholders.
      • Provide guidance and advice by gathering, analysing, producing and sharing up to date information on financial activities with the relevant stakeholders
      • Be a centre of excellence in reviewing the financial information for Nedbank Subsidiaries through proactive engagement with stakeholders
      • Oversee financial analysis to evaluate organizational and managerial financial performance.
      • Maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders through regular stakeholder meetings and feedback sessions
      • Provide insights with regards to financial analysis, application of policies, standards and future standards by engaging with stakeholder.
      • Understand stakeholders' needs in order to provide value added and timeous technical advice and service through ongoing consultation.
      • Build trusting and collaborative professional relationships within own department through open communication.
      • Ensure accurate and compliant reporting by implementing and ensuring adherence to the necessary processes and procedures
      • Increase awareness and compliance through communication and training to business on changes, processes, policies and standards e.g. IFRS etc.
      • Ensure data integrity by providing advice on system changes.
      • Identify possible risk areas through compliance tracking.
      • Evaluate financial statements and ensures regulatory compliance through stakeholder engagements.
      • Improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers.
      • Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities by ensuring all learning activities are completed, experience practiced and certifications obtained.
      • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).
      • Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy (e.g.. Green Strategy).

      Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

      • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

      Preferred Qualification

      Bachelors Degree: Commerce/Finance

      CA(SA)/ CFA

      Preferred Certifications

      SAICA

      Minimum Experience Level

      • Successful incumbent must have 7 - 10 years experience in the finance / balance sheet management / treasury environment with at least 5 years in senior roles.
