Job Summary:
The Head Baseball Coach - Teacher - High School is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the school Principal & Athletic Director, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require. Moreover, they must embody the core belief that every action we take is driven by a commitment to the best interests of our students.

FLSA: Exempt
Primary Function: Supports all aspects of a particular sports program while abiding by the policies and procedures of the Paulding County School District and the Georgia High School Association.

Dexterity of hands and fingers
Hearing and speaking to exchange information
Ability to demonstrate the techniques needed for proper execution of the sport activities
Standing for extended periods of time
Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials
Requirements:
Education Level: Bachelor Degree
Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
Successful classroom and/or coaching experience preferred
Ability to manage Athletic Budget
Ability to work with/lead Athletic staff
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:
Follow scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner
Uses effective instructional delivery techniques, excellent communication skills, to motivate students to excel.
Motivate and encourage students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a foundation for being a respectable athlete.
Promote student engagement and provide appropriate collaborative and cohesive environment.
Build teamwork/leadership capacity in student athletes
Respond to adequate and inadequate student performance
Comply with PCSD and GHSA rules and regulations
Teach techniques and elements of play for a sports program
Supervises other coaching staff and volunteers, as needed.
Maintain effective physical setting for instruction
Maintain appropriate student behavior
Ensures appropriate care, maintenance, and storage of athletic equipment.
Enforce standards for discipline and Sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establishes and oversees penalties for breach of standards
Ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position
Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures
Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies
Perform other duties as assigned by Athletic Director, Principal, and Superintendent or designee
