      Main Purpose and Function

      The Head Cashier is a supervisory position within Golf Pitch and Putts. The position supervises team members within the CUPE 15 environment. Responsible for the accurate daily cash reconciliation, implementation of tournaments onsite, and support scheduling and timesheet administration as directed by the supervisor. In addition, the Head Cashier mentors fellow employees including facilitating performance management as needed.

      Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships

      The position reports directly to the Clubhouse Coordinator in Golf Operations and supervises the cashiers at the Pitch and Putt kiosk.

      Specific Duties/Responsibilities

      • With guidance from supervisor, sets work priorities, trains, supervises and mentors Cashiers while dealing with any immediate performance management issues while employees are on shift.
      • Handles daily cash processing requirements including reconciliation of daily receipts.
      • Completion of deposits as required.
      • Ensures the security of the P&P kiosk and facilitates opening and end-of-day procedures.
      • Oversee daily front of house operations at the P&P kiosk. Ensuring that facilities are clean and properly set for business.
      • Orders all stock and maintains proper inventory levels of all goods.
      • Handle and resolves customer concerns as they arise.
      • Ensures employees are adhering to the guidelines and requirements of their position as outlined in the employee handbook.
      • Coordinates the implantation of all Tournaments onsite, liaising with the client onsite to ensure needs and requirements are met in a timely manner.
      • Works with Supervisor to create Work Requests, coordinate with COV staff for various tasks and complete site inspections.
      • Other duties as required

      Qualifications

      Education and Experience:

      • Minimum Grade 12 education
      • Strong experience in a Food and Beverage environment is an asset.
      • Experience supervising a team of unionized employees.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Must have Food Safe Certification.
      • Must have Serving it Right Certification.
      • Knowledge of cashiering methods and practices
      • Working knowledge of standard office methods and procedures pertaining to receiving and recording or remittances and control of saleable goods.
      • Working knowledge of POS systems and Moneris.
      • Ability to accurately process cash handling procedures and maintaining accurate clerical records.
      • Ability to create staff schedules, supervising and training of P&P employees.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
      • Able to work a variety of days and shifts including evenings and weekends.
