Manage, supervise and coordinate assigned programs, services, and activities for the Albuquerque Museum to include, but not limited to, collection development/management and exhibition acquisition, creation, and implementation; manage the development and the implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned programs; and coordinate activities with outside groups, organizations and agencies. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university art, art history, history, museum studies, cultural or ethnic studies, or anthropology; and
Six (6) years of curatorial experience in a museum or gallery setting; and
To include three (3) years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain within ninety (90) days from date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.• Principles and practices of program development and administration within a museum or gallery
• Principal and practices of project management
• Operational characteristics, services and activities of a museum collection program
• Art, southwestern, social, or cultural history
• Principles and museum exhibit planning, designing, interpretation, and public dispersal of historic concepts and research
• Principles and procedures of programming, interpretation, and preservation of historic structures
• Methods and techniques of historical research and analysis
• Principles of process improvement
• Principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and administration
• Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation
• Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations• Manage, coordinate and oversee assigned museum programs, services and activities
• Oversee and coordinate the work of lower level staff
• Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff
• Manage the development and the implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned programs
• Oversee and coordinate the development of exhibitions
• Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
• Research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques
• Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
