      External Affairs:

      External Affairs is part of the executive division of the Chairman of the Board of Mercedes-Benz Group AG and is responsible worldwide for safeguarding the interests of the company vis-à-vis political decision makers. External Affairs consists of central functions at headquarters in Stuttgart plus the field offices in Beijing, Washington D.C. and Brussels/Berlin.

      External Affairs in Brussels:

      The Brussels office is part of the Government Relations Berlin and European Affairs department. Due to the close links between European legislative initiatives and their implementation in national law, the offices in Brussels and Berlin work under the one management. The topics range from transport policy, environmental policy (including Euro 7) and ESG – such as the European Supply Chain Act – to matters of trade policy (including the rules of origin for electric vehicles).

      Our team consists of 10 colleagues in Berlin and Brussels with various different academic and professional backgrounds in business and politics. With our wide-ranging experience and perspectives, we observe and assess political developments with regard to their relevance for the corporate success of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.

      You will have the following challenges and responsibilities:

      • Active representation of the company's interests in the EU legislative process.
      • Formation of alliances through the involvement of other companies, associations, diplomatic missions and NGOs in the safeguarding of interests, for example.
      • External representation of Mercedes-Benz Group AG and establishing and maintaining a political network in Brussels and with the representative offices of the EU member states.
      • Close cooperation with the central functions and the other field offices of External Affairs and with the specialist departments at headquarters in Stuttgart

      Ideally, you will qualify for this job with the following:

      • A degree in business management or a comparable field
      • Experience in stakeholder management
      • Business fluency in German and English
      • Communication and presentation skills
      • Intercultural skills and empathy
      • A confident manner and good persuasion skills
