      Division:

      Sanlam Corporate Cluster comprises of the two existing businesses - Sanlam Employee Benefits (SEB) and Sanlam Health Management (SHM) and the soon to be established Sanlam Corporate Solutions. These businesses enhance our corporate business offering through providing integrated solutions for corporate clients both in South Africa and across the African continent by providing tailored solutions to targeted corporates. Sanlam Umbrella Solutions is responsible for the product development of Sanlam’s umbrella retirement offerings as a multi-employer pension savings vehicle that provides employers with an alternative to the administrative and governance burden of stand-alone pension funds.

      The overall purpose of the role:

      Responsible for the full fund secretariat function in relation to the Sanlam Umbrella Fund. Reporting to SC Sanlam Umbrella Solutions: Managing Executive.

      What will you do?

      • Responsible for the fund secretariat duties of the Sanlam Umbrella fund
      • Responsible for fund governance and ensuring compliance with and oversight of, ongoing statutory regulatory requirements in relation to the fund.
      • Assisting the Principle Officer and Deputy Principle Officer with the day to day operations of the Sanlam Umbrella Fund.
      • Establish relationships at trustee and other stakeholder levels.
      • Attendance of all relevant committee meetings.
      • Responsible for Trustee register and recordkeeping of all contracts and protocols.
      • Prepare Board packs and agendas for trustee meetings.
      • Maintain the year planner and monitor the implementation of action items.

      What will you do (continuous)?

      • Arrange Trustee and Board resolutions
      • Serve as the monitoring person of Sanlam Umbrella Fund
      • Manage various Retirement Fund activities with reference to the Sanlam Umbrella Fund i.e. 37D, Divorce orders, complaints, contribution monitoring, fund secretariat services and S14, etc.
      • Support the administration and Sanlam Umbrella Solutions team on technical industry queries
      • Attend to client relationship and benefit consulting fund related queries

      Qualification & Experience:

      • Relevant tertiary requirements i.e. legal degree preferred
      • CFP or Diploma in Retirement Fund Management required
      • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Employees Benefits/Retirement Funds Industry

      Knowledge and Skills:

      • Knowledge of Retirement Fund Industry, legislation and fund governance
      • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point
      • Strong operational capabilities
      • Excellent written and verbal skills
      • Team Managerial skills

      Personal Qualities:

      • Strong client focus and business service orientation
      • Planning, time management, task prioritization, ownership
      • Good interpersonal skills and conflict handling
      • Problem Identification and solving ability
      • Ability to work under pressure, work accurately and strong detail orientation
      • Well presented with a professional manner

      Turnaround time
