  Position: GSC Head CEM (Compressor Engineering & Manufacturing)

  Location: Pune

  Your contributions to organisation's growth:

  This position will lead the core functions of Compressor Engineering & Manufacturing in the Global Service Centre. This role will be responsible to create a high performing team working closely with multiple regions/ BCXs delivering work packages as well as complete projects in conjunction with the internal stakeholders.

  • The following sub-functions will report into this position:
    • Design: Includes both PLD and CAD groups (both Syst & Serv groups)
    • Sizing function
    • Strategic Procurement
    • Value Engineering
    • CPM and Cost Book Support
    • Global Manufacturing Support.
  • Responsible for sub-functions listed above with ownership of the team which will comprise of FTEs, trainees as well as contract resources.
  • Work closely with Design, Sizing managers to meet deliverables.
  • Lead value engineering, strategic procurement, CPM, cost book, and global manufacturing support team members in day-to-day activities in close alignment with matrix managers.
  • Responsible for work delivered to internal stakeholders with high quality, on-time-delivery & meeting the expected cost targets.
  • Ensure minimum variance (under-absorption) & High Utilization in all groups of CEM.
  • Monitor invoices and control the overall costs of the group. Have good understanding and control of the invoices for the GSC -CEM group
  • Develop and upgrade the system of learning captured through training, experiment, appropriate documentation.
  • Interactions with counterparts in BCXs on regular basis.
  • Support in analysis & solving typical field failures in products.
  • Plan & build competence of local team for superior performance & higher range of product engineering.
  • Establish and maintain a well-defined quality system across the function through ISO, EOHS
  • Responsibility for department MIS
  • Add value in local management team meetings.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process in conjunction with the talent acquisition team.
  • Oversee the on-boarding process, ensuring new hires are effectively integrated into company culture and separation/ offboarding process.
  • Generate new ideas to optimize the design to meet customer specification and requirements through value engineering.
  • Provide leadership to team members and provide support to solve problems.

  Expertise you have to bring in along with;

  • Minimum of 15-20+ years of experience in a multinational company in similar role.
  • Experience of leading team of engineers & managers
  • Experience in the field of compressor design or a rotary equipment design
  • Having knowledge of Sizing software’s, FEMA software’s, ERP, 3D Software’s, Studies, etc. is important.
  • Having overseas experience & leading multi-functional teams is added advantage.
  • Knowledge of EOHS .

  Special requirements:

  • Experience leading design and sizing teams working for local production as well as global support.
  • Clear understanding & preferably experience working in project Industry with importance to meeting given deadlines.
  • This role demands deep understanding of compressor and its application in industries.
