      Who we are looking for

      Purpose of role is to be responsible for oversight and management of the UK Financial Conduct Authority client asset and client money (CASS) regulatory obligations for legal entity SSBTC London Branch to ensure adequate protection of our clients’ assets.

      Individual will lead CASS Office in maintaining proactive First Line of Defence oversight , management and compliance of CASS for all business functions throughout the firm’s global operating model, and will support the Senior Manager(SMF3) who has prescribed responsibility through the Senior Manager Certification Regime (SMCR) for CASS.

      CASS Office consists of team manager with a team of 5 CASS risk specialists and 1 individual CASS specialist located in Edinburgh. The team oversees numerous business lines in all jurisdictions (NA, EMEA, APAC) who support the movement/holding of cash/securities for in scope CASS activities.

      The role requires strong leadership, good interpersonal skills, and, proficient risk control mindset.

      This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

      What you will be responsible for

      As Head of CASS Office you will

      • Lead the team to deliver appropriate ownership, governance and oversight of operational effectiveness of controls in place for firm’s CASS responsibilities, inclusive of an effective CASS Control Risk Framework and in line with CASS Risk tolerance statement

      • Be accountable for the effective delivery of all production activities, including the CASS RP, CMAR and client money requirements

      • Provide subject matter expertise to the relevant Regulatory / Risk / Change governance forums and drive any changes that may impact CASS span or compliance to ensure they are proactively appropriately assessed

      • Be accountable for all CASS Office internal second and third line audits and annual external CASS statutory audit .

      • Lead, develop, motivate the team by proactively monitoring competency levels, skill sets, resource allocation, development opportunities to enhance and/or address any issues preventing a high performing team

      • Oversee and direct review and implementation of annual mandatory CASS Training to all employees .Identify opportunities for timely ad hoc CASS training and support to ensure regulatory requirements relevant to business/individual roles are being met.

      • Become an effective delegate for SMF 3 for CASS to ensure all SMCR reasonable step responsibilities are being met.

      • 10+ years of experience at a managerial position within the investment services industry within global custody business
