- Develop and execute an internal communications strategy for Morton Salt, with a focus on increasing employee engagement and the company’s employment brand.
- Lead planning and execution of internal communications programs to drive a united workplace culture.
- Manage the enterprise-wide development / deployment of corporate content of a digital display network for all company sites throughout North and South America.
- Create modern, compelling content across multiple channels including video, print, newsletter, company intranet/portal, quarterly meetings and network video boards.
- Develop a long-term strategy to modernize, grow engagement and improve employee perception through use of various communication tools including various formats of CEO Leadership Townhall forums.
- Serve as the editor-in-chief of our internal newsletters, publishing consistent, modern and compelling content for our employees as well as our various social media platforms and recruitment sites.
- Write and edit materials, including organizational announcements, intranet articles, executive speeches, talking points, and company presentations.
- Provide ongoing counsel and internal communication support to senior executives.
- Develop strategy, editorial plans and content to support change management, employee engagement programs and cultural initiatives.
- Manage internal communications analytics including reporting, growth targets and program evaluation.
- Manage translation services vendors as needed for communications with French, Spanish and Portuguese speaking populations across the Americas business units.
- Manage day-to-day media relations for the company and work with key stakeholders to provide counsel and reactive statements for media requests.
- Develop communication plans and strategy to protect company reputation and assist business units as necessary for labor relations, health & safety, issues management and crisis communication.
- Manage and coordinate employer/corporate social & online presence on various sites (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Bloomberg, D&B, etc.).

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Advertising, English or technology-related discipline. Will consider candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds who have the appropriate experience.

5+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, public relations, publishing, social media or related field. Experience in a corporate environment preferred. CPG and B2B industry experience a plus.
- Passion for storytelling, creating content, emerging platforms and the role they can play at Morton Salt with the ability to be a storytelling evangelist and thought leader within the organization.
- Exceptional, articulate communicator with superior journalistic and business writing skills, as well as strong verbal and presentation skills.
- Core understanding of editorial planning and content management systems (CMS) involving multiple partners and platforms.
- Passion to learn and adopt the latest communications trends, strategies, platforms, technologies, tools, and techniques to improve communications effectiveness.
- Adept at communicating in innovative ways and across a wide range of channels and mediums, including print, video, web, and social media.
- Proven record of accomplishment of planning and flawlessly executing enterprise-wide communication programs with measurable results.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence and drive alignment among stakeholders across all levels and functions, from front-line teammates to senior management.
- Strong record of accomplishment managing confidential/sensitive company information and adhering to the highest ethical standards.
- Experience managing outside agency teams, vendors and third-party partners.
- Superior planning, project management and analytical skills, with a strong bias toward results, measurement and reporting.
- Fosters effective and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Self-starter who is able to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively and consistently execute with excellence.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and operates with a sense of purpose and urgency to meet the demands of multiple customers.
- Photo editing and illustration skills – experience with Adobe creative suite a plus.
- Proficiency in French a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Job Summary
The jobholder is responsible for co-creating and implementing an engaging, inspiring and results driven Internal Communications, Employment Brand, Employee Engagement and DE&I strategy. This plan will be aimed at enabling successful implementation of these aspects of the people agenda across the business. The successful incumbent ensures the plan developed aligns to the broader people strategy and contributes to the success of the company in achieving its performance goals. The jobholder delivers the agreed engagement and communication programs and initiatives, including employee surveys and follow up communications, with flexibility to localize for business unit requirements. The Head of Communications and Engagement leads internal communications strategy and execution to help transform and modernize the way we connect with employees and play a leading role in improving company culture.
