      The Position

      Head Of Communications- Purpose

      As our new Head of Communications, you will proactively enhance and protect the reputation of Roche Diagnostics UK & IE as a healthcare partner and pioneer, demonstrating the value of in vitro diagnostics to the wider world of healthcare with effective internal and external communication and events that have real impact.

      You will be in the driving seat of ensuring our people feel engaged and connected with the business strategy and goals, putting our customers and patients at the heart of everything we do.

      You will have the opportunity to oversee how we run and execute our internal and external events to achieve the very best employee and customer experience & will ensure communications remains, and continues to be viewed as, a strategic business function providing sound counsel to drive business imperatives.

      Key Tasks & Associated Responsibilities

      To support the commercial goals of Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland by providing the following:

      • Strategic direction, budgets and priorities. Ensuring activities are driven by insight and focused on outcome.

      • Support the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to drive company vision, core values and key focus areas/commercial priorities.

      • Ensure the development and implementation of multichannel strategy across communication, events and brand (internal and external).

      • Act as a trusted counsel to senior leaders across the business advising on communications to support business strategy and strengthen business success.

      • Lead issues/crisis communication for Roche Diagnostics; as a member of the business continuity team and working alongside global colleagues to define strategy where relevant

      • Act as a Roche brand champion - maintaining and strengthening brand integrity across all platforms.

      • Leading and inspiring cross-functional teams to create impactful, integrated campaigns (in particular with marketing and public affairs).

      • Work closely with the Marketing Leadership Team to drive commercial priorities and champion customer experience.

      • Collaborate and align with global and regional communications leads as well as UK & Ireland, Pharma and Diabetes Care communications leads.

      • Work and manage the relationship with our third party agencies

      • Motivate and lead the Communications and Events team to success, through : development in role; delivery of timely feedback, celebration of success, coaching, fostering a culture of team working and collaboration.

      Who You Are

      You have significant experience in driving company strategy and transformation through communications & delivering impactful outcome-based communications strategy within a commercial environment.

      You will embody Roche leadership commitments & will also bring/have:

      • Significant experience in a senior role within communications (ideally a mix of agency and in-house)

      • Proven leadership in crisis and issues communication

      • Change management expertise

      • Track record of leadership of direct reports. Ability to coach & mentor others.

      • Collaborating and influencing at all levels within a complex global organization

      • UK healthcare industry knowledge & commercial acumen
