Develop North America Communications team
Take responsibility for broad and challenging communication activities of ZEISS Group in North America
Initiate, conceptualize, plan, and implement communication projects, both internally and externally
Support, conceptualize, plan, and implement globally initiated communication initiatives
Develop and implement target group specific communication strategies
Conceptualize and steer all aspects of media and public relations
Develop and implement concepts for a high impact public appearance of ZEISS as a company and its executives incl. social media, local events, customer events
Increase employee identification, retention and the enablement of managers to strengthen their strategic and employee communication (e.g., on strategy development, goals, culture, values)
Drive internal employee and change communications across businesses and functions
Contribute actively to ZEISS communities on communication and marketing
Lead cross-functional, cross-business, cross-country project teams
Increase number of users/visitors, reach and engagement rates
Support for the creation of scripts, texts for print/online for executives
Interact and steer external vendors and partners who support internal/external communication projects and activities
Close interaction and collaboration with local teams, PD, Facilities as well as Marketing/Comm functions in the businesses
Degree in Communication, Media, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business or Related Field
5+ years of experience in industry, management consulting or comparable professional activities, ideally in Communication, Brand or Marketing Management
3+ years leadership experience
Proven record of working with traditional (incl. events, print) and digital media
High level of expertise in communication towards employees, executives, and other internal and external stakeholders
Experience in external communications including media relations and social media
Skilled in working with different businesses and stakeholders to develop and carve out specific messages based on the ZEISS brand
Experience working for a global company preferred, comfortable operating in matrix environment with experience in cultural change initiatives
Willing to travel domestically and international
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Travel to Europe and within North America
Position Summary :
The role is part of the North American Shared Services organization (Carl Zeiss, Inc.) and embedded into the global Communication team. The objective is to implement a strategic approach for communication on ZEISS Group level on the North American market. This includes the internal and external communication channels across all media (print, event, digital) and the entire communication process from ideation/creation, planning to implementation.
These activities target at informing and exciting the core stakeholders of ZEISS in North America (beyond customers and markets) and within the ZEISS Group about the company, its activities and win them as positive promotors. This also intends to strengthen the ability of ZEISS to attract talent, retain key employees and increase belonging and identification with ZEISS across all businesses. The pillars of continuous communication activities on ZEISS Group level in North America (for internal and external target groups, both personally or via media) are the systematic planning of topics and target groups, the implementation of a regional content management as well as leveraging globally available content and assets.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Experience and Education requirements :
The annual pay range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
