- Oversee and manage the credit union’s charitable giving programs, including corporate sponsorships, grants, employee volunteer programs, and fundraising efforts. Ensure that all philanthropic activities are aligned with organizational priorities and goals.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive philanthropic strategy to achieve fundraising goals and grow the foundation's financial resources.
- Evaluate and enhance fundraising practices to ensure sustainable and ethical growth.
- Develop and Lead initiatives to deepen community engagement, strengthen partnerships, and enhance the organization's presence.
- Act as the primary spokesperson for community events, public meetings, and partnership opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage diverse audiences and address community needs aligned with the organization's mission.
- Act as a spokesperson and brand ambassador for the Foundation in community matters and philanthropic endeavors.
- Develop content for press releases, newsletters, and social media to raise awareness of community involvement and build the credit union’s reputation as a socially responsible organization.
- Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns to promote the organization's programs and initiatives.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications platforms.
- Provide oversight for the foundation's operations, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategic initiatives and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Manage budgets and oversee resource allocation to ensure the foundation’s sustainability
- Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management or related field
- Five or more years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated success in fundraising
- Proficiency in non-profit fiscal and strategic management
- Able to work and make judgments independently and take initiative.
- Resourceful self-starter.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, reporting and budgetary oversight.
Summary
The Head of Community Development and Philanthropy will be responsible for leading and advancing the credit union’s community engagement efforts and philanthropic initiatives, through the charitable CommunityAmerica Foundation. This role will develop, implement, and manage strategic programs designed to strengthen the credit union’s ties with its local and regional communities, promote financial literacy, and enhance the overall well-being of members and communities through targeted giving, volunteerism, and partnerships. They will collaborate with internal teams, community organizations, and external partners to drive social impact and align philanthropy with the credit union’s core values and mission.
