Following the acquisition of Embark in 2022, Scottish Widows have improved our proposition and streamlined our technology to allow us to be easier to work with and promote better customer outcomes. As we move from transformation to growth, we're investing in the capabilities in our Distribution function, to grow our market leading team. These capabilities allow us to build and develop truly strategic relationships with advisers and partners, delivering this transformation to the market.

      The Head of Corporate Partnerships sits at the heart of the Scottish Widows Distribution Leadership team with responsibility for leading commercial strategic partnerships, as well as opening new Retail and Institutional opportunities driving the ambitious growth of the Corporate, Workplace, Protection, Strategic and White Label channels in relation to the Scottish Widows propositions.

      In this role, you'll have responsibility for running all elements of the Corporate Partnership team to ensure compliant engagement with our B2B partners and Intermediaries from our market facing teams. We'll need you to have a dynamic and flexible approach, working directly with our Distribution businesses, as well as the wider LBG, Scottish Widows senior leadership team, including Change, Operations and Propositions. Leading the senior Corporate Partnership team, you'll have accountability for devising and delivering the commercial strategy to achieve the long-term business objectives. In addition, you'll be accountable for driving and delivering business change to optimise business performance and will be accountable to the function Executive Director on progress.

      You'll ensure the balanced delivery of net new revenue across the portfolio of channels and propositions, ensuring the up sell and cross sell across the wider organisation. This includes growing the breadth and depth of our engagement with the Corporate Institutional Coverage and Halifax Intermediaries teams to truly bring to bear the power of Lloyds Banking Group. You'll lead 6 colleagues, with a wider team of circa 30 colleagues as well as leading key head office relationships with our partners.

      Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

      • Uncover, cultivate, and close a pipeline of corporate opportunities for each propositional solution to drive revenue and profit.
      • Optimally run existing large key partnerships to gain a beachhead position and crucial Share of Wallet.
      • Develop internal partnerships with other areas of the Group to build scalable models for distribution across a range of channels.
      • Be a pioneer of the Intermediary and Corporate market and deliver thought leadership on that supports our ambition.
      • Responsibility for the effective upkeep and data capturing onto our preferred Distribution Client Relationship Management system.
      • Operates an effective Proficiency Development Framework to ensure the Corporate Partnership team remain compliant, confident, and competent in engaging with our key partners and B2B Corporate opportunities.
      • Supervise trading and panel/colleague performance (eg PVNBP, pipeline, persistency, activity metrics, competitiveness), and identify performance improvement opportunities.

      What you’ll need:

      • Deep Client Relationship Experience across the Retail Intermediary and Corporate Intermediary market and an in depth understanding of the evolving Distribution landscape
      • Outstanding eye for business
      • Validated ability leading a regulated financial services business or large operating area
      • Driven delivery mind­set
      • Demonstrate the ability to activate new distribution partners through effective pricing, contracting and the signing of appropriate legal documentation
      • Runs an effective and robust Risk Management and Governance framework
      • Takes on challenges with a sense of urgency and high energy; collaborating with others to make valuable contributions to the performance of the business area
      • Able to convey to the commercial partner the compelling reasons to partner with the Group and can build rapid trust and rapport in their technical, commercial and service capabilities
      • Uses data and MI effectively to help decision making; combining analysis with experience and other feedback to make effective, workable decisions.
      • Uses compelling arguments to gain support and dedication of others. Negotiating skilfully to achieve good balance and effective outcomes.
