- External Engagements and Branding: Enhance brand visibility and digital footprint by managing strategic external engagements, select external communications around DD&T’s work (e.g., impact of digital), and highlighting the strong digital culture at Takeda.
- Culture: Develop and drive execution of efforts to build a strong culture. This includes driving culture and engagement activities to help the growing DD&T community to embrace Takeda-ism values, setting a foundation for creating an exceptional people experience.
- International Capability Center (ICC) Communications: Oversee internal & external communications for the global network of ICCs, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging across all platforms in partnership with local communications leads.
- Internal Engagement and Communications: Lead capabilities and best practice for internal communications and engagements.
- Develop and implement innovative branding strategies to enhance presence in the data / digital landscape. Manage media relations and external communications, including digital content creation and public engagements aligned to Takeda’s Corporate Communications strategy and team.
- Design and oversee a comprehensive DD&T communications strategy, including the delivery of all internal and external messaging, to support DD&T’s strategic objectives and projects. Ensure consistent messaging across all communication platforms and stakeholders.
- Spearhead DD&T Culture Strategy - Plan and execute strategic change activities that embed Takeda’s culture (including facilitation of Culture and Values Group, DE&I programs, CSR Activities and Ethics & Compliance initiatives)
- Manage and coordinate communications and engagement for Takeda’s global Innovation Capability Centers, ensuring that updates, achievements, and strategic insights are effectively communicated to both internal and external stakeholders
- Lead a dedicated team of communication professionals, setting clear objectives, encouraging professional growth, and ensuring alignment with department’s strategic goals. Establish a best-in-class communications capability within the DD&T function.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, executives, media, and industry partners. Act as the primary contact for DD&T communications.
- This role encompasses both strategic leadership and execution of activities and services as required. Leading by example and setting high standards for teams across the DD&T organization:
- Create communications plans, content calendars, presentations, social media posts, videos, articles, talking points and other communications assets as required
- Generate a range of communications materials and assets for use ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity, and consistency of messages
- Guidance on best practice as required
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications, with a focus on technology or data-driven environments.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies in a complex, global organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, and analytics.
- Experience in communication for digital/technology Products e.g., Microsoft, Mobile applications, SAP.
- Experience managing projects, planning events, creating content and general understanding of graphic design principles and user experience required.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Additional Language Skills desirable – e.g., Japanese, German, French, Spanish.
- Experience in business partnering, providing a support service internally to business stakeholders.
- Solid IT skills and a quick learner of new project systems as well as design and media applications and tools.
- Highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

For Location:
Cambridge, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$174,500.00 - $274,230.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained , certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
