      Position overview:

      The Chief Data Office is responsible for setting and driving implementation of the Group Data Strategy, ensuring regulatory expectations are met whilst delivering an optimised data management approach as a key differentiator for the Bank.

      The Group Head of Data Delivery and Data Operations will establish and lead the Group strategy for strategic data delivery and drive the operationalization of Data Management across domains. They will build data delivery capabilities to ensure effective data management across DB. And drive data delivery cycles from requirements translation through to business acceptance and readiness and manage data capabilities.

      The role holder will be responsible for a culture of data excellence and driving adoption of the strategic data delivery across divisions, including: data quality management; data access & residency; group records management; data retention, architecture and disposal; CDO risk management; data frameworks.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Single point of accountability in DB to enhance and execute a Group Data Delivery and Data Operations strategy to deliver business outcomes

      • Defines and drives execution of Group Data Delivery and Data Operations strategy. Define strategic data adoption priorities for divisional CIOs / COOs, and link to performance KPIs to support / monitor delivery

      • Execution and quality assurance oversight across provision and adoption work to identify / remediate bottlenecks

      • Deliver the necessary capabilities and services for the operationalization of data management. Steer the delivery of standard data tooling that optimize the end-to-end data lifecycle within the organization.

      • Manages risks and oversees controls in respect of risk types which fall within the remit of the Unit by way of implementing and maintaining an adequate and effective risk management, including identification, assessment and management (incl. control, monitoring and reporting) of risks.

      • Defines and owns the mission within the overall mandate of the Data Delivery & Operations domain in line with overall Data strategy and execution.

      • Drives definition of vision, mission and Objectives and Key Results (OKR) for entire Data Delivery & Operations domain with global sponsor and regional stakeholders (ensuring that the teams goals are well-understood). Helps Group Chief Data Office to continuously improve the effectiveness of their delivery of value to clients & stakeholders.

      People Management:

      • Sets clear direction for the team in line with overall business strategy balancing both global and local priorities.

      • Supports the development of an environment where people management and development is the number one priority. Coaches direct reports and others in the organisation, as appropriate.

      • Actively supports the business strategy, plans and values, contributing to the achievement of a high performing culture.

      • Creates an inclusive and open culture where team members are encouraged to express views and raise concerns.

      • Brings diverse teams together to collaborate on topics to achieve optimal ideas and recommendations.

      • Develops a senior leadership pipeline ensuring a robust succession plan is in place for all critical roles.

      • Supports tough people decisions to ensure people performance is aligned with organisation imperatives and needs. Addresses individual performance issues, where necessary, to drive for high performance.

      Experience Required:

      • Significant experience in senior data leadership roles of comparable scale & complexity within highly regulated financial services environments. Familiarity and experience dealing with matrix reporting relationships across several business lines and jurisdictions.

      • Experience across data delivery and data operations domains

      • Critical problem solving and influencing across the organisation

      • Working knowledge of relevant processes & systems, broader application and infrastructure environments and standards required by regulators to protect DB and our clients. Strong data management experience and knowledge of global and local trends and best practices.

      • Experience establishing and maintaining “tone from the top” and promoting a culture of risk and compliance within a complex three lines of defence model, building upon culture, values, and behaviour.

      • Able to work in fast paced environment, keep pace with technical / operational / business innovation and maintain a broad understanding of the business strategic priorities.

      • Global experience highly desirable
