      Job Description

      JOB TITLE: Head of Data Enablement

      LOCATION: Bristol.

      HOURS: Full-Time.

      WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, and the role will require the successful candidate to be spending at least two days per week, or a minimum of 40% of their time in the Bristol hub.

The Finance Data & Analytics Office (FDAO) is a Centre of Excellence of Data encompassing activities across Data Engineering, Data Management & Culture, Data Science and Reporting with a purpose to Empower through Trusted Data. We're evolving our data & analytics offering, our ethos, and our capability to craft a truly data-led organisation which is at the heart of the Finance Strategy.

      The role/team

      This role leads the transformation of how Data is used across Finance from definition to delivery of the operating model structure, scope and ways of working. You'll lead the partnering activity within the Finance Business Unit working hand in hand with the Finance Platform and across into Chief Data & Analytics Office as the key connector to enable the functional redesign and controlled delivery of Finance wide interactive MI & Data proposition. This role will also deputise for the Finance Data Director and lead team wide initiatives.

      A typical day in this role would include…

      • Define and develop the strategy / target operating model to service both Finance Business unit & Finance Platform and lead the transition to this operating model ensuring reporting service commitments are maintained throughout.

      • Shape the change agenda to optimise efficiency and improvement across all areas of data including the execution of strategic and tactical initiatives as required on behalf of FDAO director and the Finance Platform.

      • Partner with Finance Platform to build the future operating model as we move towards a future of “self serve analytics”.

      • Build positive relationships with key partners across Finance to understand the Data that is key to Business needs and partner with other teams in LBG with focus on CDOA and Risk.

      • Portfolio accountability for the inbound work into FDAO providing a single point of contact on backlog prioritisation and subsequent delivery of each initiative in alignment with Finance Platform.

      • Stand up the Data Science and AI capabilities across the Finance business unit working to develop how new technologies will improve Finance Processes.

      • Lead the sustainability agenda for our core reporting footprint across Finance with the ambition to remove paper packs from meetings.

      • Lead the data literacy uplift across the Finance business unit working with Finance Community and Chief Data & Analytics Office team to include education and talent pipeline.

      • Build and maintain an impactful team, effectively leading and developing colleagues to deliver on objectives through stretching performance objectives, feedback & coaching.

      About you

      • As an experienced Data professional you will have a proven ability to translate the technical Data management concepts into consumable stories to engage a diverse range of colleagues.

      • You'll be a dynamic and adaptable leader who will identify the business needs, shaping initiatives, and delivering ground-breaking solutions.

      • You'll possess an intellectual curiosity in your outlook; seek to innovate and learn quickly from failures.

      • You should be someone who can communicate and influence at Executive and Board level yet be able to tell the story to whole teams.

      • You'll need to have influence outside of the immediate team and Finance function, with frequent interactions with Data colleagues, Risk and Customer teams, including our regulators and external partners.

      • You can deliver through others, enjoy working in a matrix structure and use your networks to enable phenomenal outcomes and will b alance assertiveness with co-operation to enable truly collaborative working partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.

      • You'll have a passion to develop diversity through your team where inclusivity and team or individual learning is at the heart of your operations.
