      What you'll do


      As the Head of Delivery Management at Sainsbury's Tech, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our technology strategy by coordinating, measuring, and managing all delivery within a portfolio of programmes. Collaborating closely with Directors of Engineering or Technology, you will ensure that programme outcomes align with strategic priorities across engineering families. Drawing upon your deep technical understanding and excellent communication skills, you will provide first-line assurance to the Directors by monitoring delivery statuses and effectively managing risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact timely delivery. Additionally, you will coach and mentor Delivery Managers, support workforce planning, and drive continuous improvement through post-implementation reviews. Adept at breaking down complex projects into manageable deliverables, you will exhibit an eye for detail and demonstrate great judgement in structuring and sequencing delivery to maximise value. Your expertise in agile software delivery, strong leadership skills, and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels will be instrumental in driving successful outcomes for Sainsbury's Tech.

      Who you are


      As the Head of Delivery Management for Sainsbury's Tech, you are a highly experienced and strategic leader with a deep understanding of agile values and software engineering approaches. With a proven track record in delivering technical programmes at scale within an agile and product context, you possess strong influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively at board level. Your expertise in technology and software delivery, combined with your experience in leading teams, enables you to coordinate and manage the delivery of complex outcomes across multiple engineering teams. As a trusted partner to directors and senior heads, you navigate complexity, manage risks and dependencies, and drive the prioritisation of business outcomes. Your strong leadership skills and ability to work within a matrix structure make you adept at driving value early and often while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
