      Position Summary

      The Head of Dental Network Strategy is a newly created leadership position, reporting directly to the Head of Network Strategy and Enablement. As a leading dental insurance carrier, the growth and ongoing management of Guardian’s network of over 135,000 providers is critical to the company’s success. The Network Strategy team has been established to strengthen and monitor the overall health of this strategically important asset. You and your team of 3-4 will be tasked with refining Guardian’s provider value proposition, leveraging data and analytics to rigorously define multi-year growth strategies, and identifying and supporting the implementation of opportunities to improve provider experiences.

      You Will:

      • Define your team’s mandate, operating norms, and roles & responsibilities.
      • Use primary research to re-invent Guardian’s provider value proposition, establishing Guardian as a preferred, innovative carrier for dentists to partner with.
      • Use internal (VOC, claims) & external data to create a robust provider segmentation framework that will more effectively support our use of limited resources.
      • Partner with IT to develop a multi-year roadmap for our network technology and operating systems.
      • Determine the right balance between directly contracted and rental providers, optimizing for competitive position/size, traffic and utilization, and net effective discount.
      • Collaborate with Finance and Actuarial to create multi-year network growth goals for strategically important, high growth segments of the United States.
      • Partner with the Finance and Actuarial to establish a comprehensive monthly and quarterly reporting package that can be successfully leveraged by network leadership for decision-making.
      • Partner daily with Product and the Network Development team to ensure recruiters are focused on the right providers, leveraging the most relevant and appropriate offers to attract them to Guardian.
      • Collaborate with the Digital Offerings team and make the business case for investment in Guardian’s provider portal and API connectivity with provider management systems.

      You Have:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. MBA preferred.
      • A minimum of 10+ years in non-medical, ancillary benefits. Group Benefits experience preferred.
      • Leadership accountability for developing and implementing internal and external monthly/quarterly reporting packages.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High comfort level with complex data sets and concepts.
      • Ability to lead while adapting to changing business priorities and environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Strong executive presence and public speaking skills including presentation to senior leadership, as well as field stakeholders.
      • Consistent track record of exceptional performance, having delivered quantifiable impact on company revenue and profitability.
      • Proven execution-oriented people leader with exceptional ability to hire and inspire teams creating high performance.
      • Track record of collaborating cross functionally to solve complex business problems and navigate rapidly evolving macro trends.

      Location and Work Arrangement:

      • Preferred locations for this position include Bethlehem, PA; Boston, MA; and New York, NY.
      • Hybrid work arrangement (partial on-site presence at a local Guardian Office; partial work from home).
      • Occasional travel will be required.

      Salary Range

      $146,010.00 - $239,880.00

      The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
