      About the role

      As the Head of Design and User Research, you will lead a team of designers and researchers to drive innovation and client-centricity across our product and service offerings. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the products, services, brand identity, client focus and culture of the organization, advocating for design-led thinking and ensuring that our solutions meet the evolving needs of our clients in the dynamic financial services landscape.

      · Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of full stack designers and researchers to achieve their full potential.
      · Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.
      · Provide strategic direction and guidance to the design and research team, aligning their efforts with the company's goals and objectives.
      · Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that integrates design thinking into the organization's product development process.
      · Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure alignment and coherence in design initiatives.
      · Oversee the end-to-end design process, from ideation and prototyping to user testing and implementation, to deliver best-in-class user experiences.
      · Drive user research initiatives to gain deep insights into customer behaviours, preferences, and pain points.
      · Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods to inform product decisions and validate design hypotheses.
      · Translate research findings into actionable recommendations that contribute to the development of client-focused solutions.
      · Lead the development and design of how HL measures customer feedback and shape the measurement of the same with help from the technology and product teams
      · Establish strategic partnerships with external design agencies, research firms, and industry experts to bring thought leadership and best practices into the organization.
      · Collaborate with external partners on specific pieces of strategic work, leveraging their expertise to enhance our design capabilities and drive innovation.
      · Maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including agencies, consultants, and industry associations, to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities in design and research.
      · Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure alignment between design efforts and the company's brand strategy.
      · Collaborate on the development and evolution of the brand identity, ensuring consistency and coherence across all touchpoints.
      · Provide design expertise and insights to support marketing campaigns, ensuring that visual elements effectively communicate key messages and resonate with the target audience.
      · Partner with Marketing to conduct user research and gather feedback on brand perception, leveraging insights to refine and strengthen the brand's positioning in the market.
      · Foster cross-functional collaboration between Design and Marketing teams, facilitating knowledge sharing and alignment on brand-related initiatives.
      · Champion a client-centric mindset within the organization, advocating for the importance of understanding and empathizing with our clients' needs.
      · Promote design thinking principles and methodologies across all levels of the company, fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation.
      · Act as a thought leader in the design community, representing HL at industry events and conferences.
