- Be an active part of the S&E LT and the overall strategic direction for S&E, and l ead a team of Search & Evaluation professionals in line with the Novo Nordisk Way to ensure optimal employee development, planning and resource utilization

- Responsible for people processes and people development incl. Talk2Grow (Performance appraisal), job descriptions, Individual Development Plans (IDP), salary, bonus and nomination of employees for promotions.
- Through internal and external network explore what assets are needed for the TA as well as how they fit with the existing internal pipeline.
- Setting direction to S&E efforts within the appointed therapy/technology area.
- Ensure oversight of the external opportunities and internal pipeline within the designated therapy area
- Ensure a balanced participation in partnering events and scientific conferences.
- Ensure establishment and maintenance of network to potential partners.
- Scout for and report opportunities through professional networks or literature searches, databases or patent searches within relevant therapy areas, i.e. diabetes, obesity, CVD, CKD, NASH, rare blood/endocrine disorders.
- Drive the technical streams of the Business Development process from strategy, to target identification as well as initial evaluation to due diligence
- Ensure presentations of selected opportunities to relevant stakeholders and governance boards
- Ensure due diligence project management, to enable decision-making.
- Master’s degree in business or life sciences is required
- At least 10 years’ experience in a consultancy, M&A house, in-house corporate development role, or equivalent R&D role
- Proven project management skills and experience
- Ability to analyze and digest complex ideas and data to make clear and qualified recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, both in written and presentation form
- Outgoing with superb networking, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
- Self-driven, solution-focused and goal-oriented who functions well in a dynamic environment.
- Strong Strategic business and financial acumen coupled with deep interest and curiosity about life sciences and medicine

The position
Your responsibilities as Head of Diabetes & Obesity Search & Evaluation (S&E) will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the TA team as well as be part of the S&E LT
Ensure strategic overview of internal, as well as BD pipeline assets and needs
Identification of novel pipeline assets and enabling technologies
Evaluation of novel pipeline assets and enabling technologies
****Workplace will be either Søborg/Denmark or Boston/United States of America, depending on candidate location****
