      About the Team:

      The Digital team is responsible for advancing Stella McCartney's global direct-to-consumer business, overseeing both stellamccartney.com and e-concessions. Structured around four key pillars—Digital Trading, Digital Operations, Digital Experience, and Digital CRM & Personalisation—it engages with every department across the global business to propel growth.

      Overview

      Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, the Head of Digital Trading, based in London, will hold a high-profile position overseeing a team of up to 7 professionals covering trading & buying, performance marketing, e-concessions, and the ecommerce studio. This role is pivotal in driving key performance indicators (KPIs) including traffic, average order value (AOV), gross sales, and sell-through rate. Effective relationship building, stakeholder management and collaboration with teams across the globe are essential to the success of this role. Only candidates with a proven track record of successful global trading in fashion retail will be considered for this position.

      Your Mission:

      Key Responsibilities:

      Buying & Trading:

      • Oversee the trading and buying strategies, ensuring a balanced product assortment to achieve the KPIs, and effective inventory management.

      • Work with merch and design teams to develop an assortment that gives ecommerce a USP and trading advantages

      • Monitor and analyse product performance daily, making data-driven decisions to maximise sales and profitability.

      • Leverage fully visual merchandising and trading tools on stellamccartney.com; identify new tools to drive trading capability further.

      • Developing the promotional calendar and leading markdown planning for ecommerce

      • Only candidates with a proven track record of global trading and buying in fashion retail will be considered for this role.

      Team Leadership and Management:

      • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of up to 7 professionals, providing guidance and support for their individual growth and development.

      • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the Digital Commerce team.

      Performance Marketing:

      • Directly manage SEO and shape content strategy

      • Working with the media planner in the marketing team, develop and execute strategies to drive traffic and customer acquisition through various digital channels including paid search, affiliate partnerships, and social media advertising.

      • Optimise campaigns for ROI.

      • Ensure alignment with the trading and marketing calendar.

      • Develop a highly pro-active culture among the team to making agile changes to drive performance

      E-concessions Management:

      • Develop the roadmap for new partners in accordance with business objectives and collaborate with logistics and tech teams for integration.

      • Negotiate commercial terms.

      • Build and maintain strong relationships with e-concession partners to drive mutual success.

      Ecommerce Studio:

      • Oversee the Ecommerce Studio to ensure the production of high-quality assets that align with brand positioning and drive ecommerce success.

      • Collaborate with creative and production teams to continuously evolve and innovate

      KPI Management:

      • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators including traffic, AOV, gross sales, and sell-through rate (non-exhaustive list).

      • Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve KPI performance.

      Reporting and Insights:

      • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to the leadership team, offering valuable insights on digital commerce performance, trends, and opportunities.

      • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations to drive strategic decision-making.

      Stakeholder Management:

      • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams around the world to ensure alignment of digital commerce strategies with broader company objectives.

      Your Talent:

      • Proven experience in a senior role within global digital commerce, preferably within the luxury fashion industry.

      • Demonstrated expertise in buying and trading in fashion retail

      • Appreciates the power of images (motion and flat) for digital trading and can manage an ecommerce studio to deliver against a vision

      • Can lead SEO and content strategy

      • Ideally, experience in performance marketing (not just managing, but doing)

      • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.

      • Passionate about digging into GA4 and financial data to find insights and monitor performance.

      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.

      • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

      Systems and Essentials

      • Google Analytics / GA4

      • Experience of working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud preferred

      • Knowledge of ecommerce tools to improve trading

      • Knowledge of performance marketing tools

      • Knowledge of Microsoft BI tools
