Financial Services partner with all areas of CommBank to specialist advice, support and services in finance, audit, treasury, property, procurement, climate strategy and investor relations.

      Group Corporate Services manages the property, procurement and supplier risk functions for the Group. This includes both retail and commercial portfolios domestically, as well as international support.

      This newly created role reports directly to the Executive General Manager Group Corporate Services (GCS).

      This role is critical in ensuring that CBA’s operations are sustainable, socially responsible and compliant with ESG principles.

      Your role is to lead and implement the ESG strategy for the Group’s operations including:

      • improving the environmental outcomes for the Group’s own emissions,
      • our approach to Modern Slavery in our supply chains,
      • supplier diversity (including Indigenous Procurement), and
      • GCS’s governance and project management office.

      In this position, you will be a thought leader on climate, and will develop the strategic direction for our ongoing approach to ESG and lead a team to successfully implement the required initiatives to deliver the strategy.

      Do work that matters

      • Enhance and implement the ESG strategy as it relates to the Group’s operations, aligning it to business goals and leading ESG practice.
      • Providing advice on ESG opportunities, performance and risks in response to global trends and socio-environmental impacts.
      • Lead strategic programmes of work including our approach to Scope 3 supply chain.
      • Lead the preparation of GCS’s external ESG results reporting for our operational portfolio (which feed into external reporting such as CBA’s Climate Report, Modern Slavery Statement and Reconciliation Action Plan).
      • Senior stakeholder management, including engaging with leaders across various parts of the Group to develop and deliver the GCS ESG strategy.
      • Establish and maintain networks with external ESG stakeholders.
      • Promote and support a culture of continuous improvement in ESG practices across GCS, and the broader business.
      • Foster employee awareness and capability regarding ESG principles and their role in operational sustainability.

      We’re interested in hearing from people who possess

      • 10 years + experience in Environmental, Social and Governance related roles, with a strong preference for experience in environmental leadership.
      • Strong track record of executing large, complex environmental programmes.
      • Demonstrated experience in ESG related roles and successful implementation of ESG initiatives
      • Excellent analytical and commercial skills, with demonstrated ability to frame and analyse problems
      • Experience in working within the corporate sector, either internally or in a consultancy capacity
      • Supply chain experience is desirable
