- Master's Degree level qualification in Facilities Management/ Construction / Engineering related subject.
- Full Membership of an appropriate professional body such as Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management (IWFM)/Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (IHEEM)/Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors(RICS)
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development
- Highly developed knowledge of performance management requirements and processes
- Knowledge of tendering processes in relation to procurement and re-procurement of services
- Significant managerial knowledge
- Extensive continued professional development, including Formal training (verified and demonstrated by Personal Log) to achieve additional specialist knowledge through a broad range of short courses and/or self-study. E.g. - Electrical - Low Voltage, Electrical Regs, Building Services, Control Systems Mechanical - Air Conditioning & Ventilation, Medical Gas & Vacuum, Steam & Water boilers & systems, Hot/Cold Water systems, Energy management, Gas Safe Regulations. Legionnaires Disease, Asbestos Safety Health & Safety in works management environments. Fire Safety
- Significant operational management experience, including leading and supervising complex teams and services.
- Demonstrable experience at a senior operational management in a provider organisation
- Experience of providing strategic and professional leadership for the management, development and efficient utilisation of a large and complex estate incorporating national requirements
- Experience of developing Strategic Estate Plans across Health and Local Authority boundaries in support of work being led by Integrated Care systems and other collaborations.
- Experience and understanding of sustainability and the NHS Carbon Reduction Commitment.
- Experience of working with Directors, senior managers/senior clinicians to develop comprehensive, affordable, and sustainable site strategies
- Experience of leading and working collaboratively to improve the working of the Estates Maintenance Function using established business methodology such as lean/six sigma to reduce overall costs and maximise efficiency.

- Experience of contract management responsibilities within a provider organisation

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Estates, Facilities and Sustainability (EFS).
As the Head of EFS you will work closely with the Group Director of Finance and Resources to deliver on the Groups estate and sustainability strategies. You will lead our EFS team and provide assurance on compliance, professional & technical support, people management, overall estate management and the development of services within your remit.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering our estates and sustainable strategies, along with regular reporting to boards and committees, and working with senior colleagues to achieve their business objectives and service delivery.
As the Head of Estates, Facilities and Sustainability you will be an inspiring and compassionate leader with extensive experience of working at a senior level, you will be highly organised, collaborative and will be required to work with a wide and varied range of stakeholders.
You must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate with, relate to and engage with a wide spectrum of people.
