      What you'll do


      As the Head of External Campaigns at Sainsbury's, reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications and Campaigns, your role will be to lead the newly created External Campaigns team and bring the company's purpose to life by positioning Sainsbury's as a thought leader that plays a vital role in securing a resilient UK food system. You will work closely with the Corporate Affairs Leadership team to communicate the progress against the new strategy, Next Level Sainsbury's, and deliver across the four outcomes: First Choice for Food, More Argos More Often, Loyalty Everyone Loves, and Save and Invest to Win. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing a campaigning strategy, ensuring the cohesive external narrative is linked to the purpose and strategy, evaluating campaign activities, and making recommendations to prioritise impactful initiatives. Additionally, you will lead a thought leadership campaign to highlight Sainsbury's as a purpose-led business, build strategic relationships with media and stakeholders, and position Sainsbury's as a champion of the UK food system. Your role will also involve leading and inspiring the team, creating clear objectives, and developing talent through mentorship and training opportunities.

      Who you are


      You are a highly skilled communications leader with a proven track record in devising and delivering impactful campaigns and thought leadership. With your deep expertise in corporate communications operations and campaign management, you are well-equipped to lead the newly created External Campaigns team, driving the communication of Sainsbury's purpose and strategy. Your strategic outlook, strong network of media contacts, and ability to build relationships at all levels enable you to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders, deliver high-quality media coverage, and build strategic partnerships. As a member of the Corporate Affairs Leadership Team, you play a crucial role in shaping the external narrative, driving maximum ROI through evaluation and focusing on activities that have the greatest impact. Your leadership, mentorship, and guidance ensure a high-performing team committed to delivering exceptional outcomes.
