At DigitalOcean, we simplify cloud hosting so businesses can focus on growth—not infrastructure. We’re a vibrant, globally distributed team of makers, thinkers, and doers on a mission to deliver unmatched performance and support to digital agencies, developers, and businesses around the world.

DigitalOcean India is a critical part of our success, serving as a strategic center for talent and capability that accelerates our global growth.

We’re looking for an inspiring and strategic Head of People to lead our People function across DigitalOcean India. In this role, you’ll shape the employee experience, champion our culture, and scale people practices that reflect our values of simplicity, speed, and customer obsession. Dive in and explore a great career with us!

As Head of People, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping DigitalOcean scale with purpose. You will be a trusted advisor to the India GM and the leadership team, an impactful partner and influencer to DigitalOcean’s global People team, and a key architect of how we attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent. Your leadership will directly influence our ability to deliver business outcomes, create high-performing teams, and cultivate a thriving, inclusive culture across our India operations.

You will own and drive the full People agenda—leading the charge on employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and end-to-end talent strategy, including performance, development, employee experience, and leadership capability. You’ll also oversee the governance of policies, ensure compliance with local labor laws, and help make DigitalOcean a great place to work.

      What You’ll Do

      • Partner Globally: Serve as the senior HR leader for DigitalOcean India, supporting a distributed team across key cities in India and collaborating closely with peers in the U.S. and global locations.
      • Lead Boldly: Oversee People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, and Learning & Development for the India organization.
      • Drive Engagement: Design and lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement, career growth, and performance across all levels.
      • Build the Future: Partner with DigitalOcean’s People team to ensure strategic alignment, while adapting programs for India’s unique culture and market.
      • Be a Culture Champion: Lead with empathy, integrity, and innovation—ensuring our culture scales as fast as our product.
      • Lead the People Strategy: Develop and execute People strategies that support business goals—focusing on how we staff, onboard, develop, motivate, and organize work.
      • Use Data to Drive Decisions: Leverage analytics and data to enable workforce planning and serve as a strategic partner internally and externally.
      • Enable Leadership Growth: Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions, ensuring plans are not only designed but actively put into practice.
      • Collaborate Across Functions: Act as a liaison with Talent Acquisition, Org Development, Total Rewards, and People Operations to ensure seamless delivery and program impact.
      • Ensure Compliance and Governance: Maintain strong governance of policies and ensure our People practices are legally compliant across India, through your in-depth knowledge of labor laws.

      What We’re Looking For

      • 10+ years in HR leadership as a Strategic HR Business Partner, with experience in high-growth tech or SaaS environments
      • Proven success leading international client organizations and navigating cross-cultural dynamics
      • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach—you can go high and deep
      • Deep expertise in scaling People programs, employee relations, and talent development
      • Ability to proactively address people-related opportunities and anticipate challenges
      • Passion for change management and guiding organizations through ambiguity and evolution
      • The ability to translate data and metrics into actionable strategies
      • A deep sense of empathy and ability to connect with employees at all levels
      • A belief in a People-first approach to building teams and driving performance

      Why You’ll Love It Here
