      Job Purpose

      National Grid is at the forefront of the energy transition to Net Zero in the UK and in the jurisdictions we cover in the US.

      We need to deliver on more infrastructure development projects in the next 10 years than ever before and fundamentally change the way our grid works to achieve our Net Zero ambitions.

      At the core of this will be to ensure that we have the best people in the right place at the right time during a period where the entire energy job market is as buoyant as its ever been and the competition for key talent is fierce.

      This role for a HR of global HR systems will sit in the People Function reporting into the Head of HR operations and transformation and play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and optimization of our HR systems on a global scale. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in successfully implementing and operationalising SAP SuccessFactors and have hands on experience in working with ECP Payroll using key SaaS principles, along with a track record in deploying various wraparound HR solutions to drive business value.

      About the Role

      • Lead the strategic planning, design, and execution of global HR systems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
      • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of SAP SuccessFactors, demonstrating proficiency in leading configuration, customization, and troubleshooting decision making.
      • Drive the implementation of additional HR solutions, providing expertise in identifying, evaluating, and integrating systems that complement the existing HR infrastructure
      • Collaborate closely with the People Function, IT and Shared Services teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of HR systems with broader HR processes and initiatives.
      • Navigate the complexities of highly unionized environments, with specific experience in managing HR systems within the UK and US.
      • Manage and lead a global team of HR systems professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
      • Develop and mentor team members, providing guidance on professional development and aligning individual goals with team and organizational objectives.
      • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to continually enhance and optimize global HR systems
      • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders on HR system-related matters
      • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in the implementation and management of HR systems.

      About You

      • Demonstrable experience in successfully implementing and operationalising SAP SuccessFactors and additional integrated HR solutions on a global scale
      • Experience working with ECP is highly desired
      • Proven track record of deploying various HR solutions to enhance overall HR system capabilities
      • Extensive experience working within the complexities of highly unionized environments, particularly in the UK and US
      • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives concurrently
      • In-depth understanding of HR processes and the ability to translate business requirements into effective system solutions
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels
      • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR systems with broader organizational goals
