      Job Description

      The opportunity

      Lead the investment product offering at Manulife Wealth ’s dealer platform for independent and employee advisors . A key member of the advisor-facing team for investment product and fee-based programs and will contribute to strategic initiatives to further the growth of the Manulife Wealth business . The candidate will assist with construct ion , monitor ing and maintain ing model portfolios , perform portfolio manager due diligence, asset class research and competitive analysis.

      Key Accountabilities :

      Individual Accountabilities:

      Conduct q uantitative and qualitative research on investment strategies and asset classes to determine conviction levels and suitability for the product shelf

      • Lead manager due diligence process, including qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment teams /products by conducting research projects and portfolio manager meetings

      • Continuous monitoring of investment products/teams/companies for: changes in key investment perso nnel, performance attribution , strategy adherence

      • Lead ownership (c reation and on-going maint enance) of the Investment Recommended List.

        Lead construction and oversight of m odel p ortfolios , and investment offerings with the Unified Managed Account program

      • Lead the development and deployment of model portfolios, drawn from a range of investment vehicles including, managed products, alternatives and SMA mandates , including engagement with manager research and investment teams within the organization to develop

      • Manage the on-going monitoring of model portfolios including the analysis of underlying strategies and performance attribution

        ontribute to Investment and Product Committees and uphold strong governance practices

      • Lead working groups for new product approvals and launches and working closely with functional partners, such as legal, compliance, risk, sales and marketing

      • Present to the investment product committee on new product offerings and any other changes related to the investment product offerings

      • Regularly assess the oversight process and committee structure to ensure robust oversight of product offerings

      Key Shared Accountabilities:

      • Work with Compliance and Legal to ensure programs and products are in good standing with regulators

      • Work with Operations and Trading to ensure the smooth delivery of products/platform result ing in a positive advisor experience

      • Work with Senior Management and Sales on insightful and value-adding information on investment strategies , products and portfolios with the goal of increasing AUA

      Job Requirements:

      • Minimum 1 5 years experience in financial services industry

      • CFA/CAIA/CIMA or MBA required

      • Dealer Head Office and investment product research experience required

      • Ability to set goals, work independently and drive results

      • Experience managing a team of individual contributors

      • Strong knowledge of asset management business

      • Strong knowledge of institutional, adviser-assisted, retail and insurance distribution channels

      • Experience with presentation development and delivery

      • Ability to drive ideas from concept to completion through efficient project management and execution skills

      Salary & Benefits

      The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

      Primary Location

      Toronto, Ontario

      Salary range is expected to be between

      $123,400.00 CAD - $229,300.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
