      Position overview:

      The Chief Data Office is responsible for setting and driving implementation of the Group Data Strategy, ensuring regulatory expectations are met whilst delivering an optimised data management approach as a key differentiator for the Bank.

      The Group Head of Master Reference Data will establish and lead the Group strategy for Reference data across domains. The role holder will be responsible for a culture of data excellence and driving adoption of the reference data strategy across divisions. They will develop, build and maintain data products for global usage, including: party data; instrument data; market data; external data & ESG.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Single point of accountability in DB to enhance and execute a Group Reference Data strategy to deliver business outcomes

      • Defines and drives execution of Group Reference Data strategy

      • Own the Group Party Data Strategy (consolidation across business lines) and associated operational team

      • Define adoption priorities for divisional CIOs/COOs, and link to performance KPIs to support/monitor delivery

      • Execution and quality assurance oversight across provision and adoption work to identify/remediate bottlenecks

      • Ensures prioritisation of material reference data issues/challenges and will adequately consider reference data adoption requirements to drive business outcomes including coordination and agreement with relevant COO/CIO’s for funding allocation

      • Visibility and control over an integrated reference data provision service aligned to consumer requirements

      • Defines and ensures effective implementation of relevant strategies within defined Risk Appetite and Tolerance, ensuring that Reference Data strategy is in line with DB’s Group risk strategy and monitors deliverables and performance targets.

      • End to end demand management process and compliance with DSFW for strategic data, maintaining controls on non-target exception requests to ensure data is adopted strategically

      • Oversight and governance for Reference Data key deliverables, KPI management and reporting, tracking of KD performance e.g., Composite Execution Score.

      • Manages risks and oversees controls in respect of risk types which fall within the remit of the Unit by way of implementing and maintaining an adequate and effective risk management, including identification, assessment and management (incl. control, monitoring and reporting) of risks.

      • Defines and owns the mission within the overall mandate of the Reference Data Domain in line with overall Data strategy and execution.

      • Drives definition of vision, mission and Objectives and Key Results (OKR) for entire Reference Data Domain with global Sponsor and regional stakeholders (ensuring that the teams goals are well-understood).

      • Helps Group Chief Data Office to continuously improve the effectiveness of their delivery of value to clients & stakeholders.

      People Management:

      • Sets clear direction for the team in line with overall business strategy balancing both global and local priorities.

      Experience Required:

      • Significant experience in senior data leadership roles of comparable scale & complexity within highly regulated financial services environments. Familiarity and experience dealing with matrix reporting relationships across several business lines and jurisdictions.

      • Experience across reference data domains

      • Critical problem solving and influencing skills

      • Working knowledge of relevant processes & systems, broader application and infrastructure environments and standards required by regulators to protect DB and our clients. Strong data management experience and knowledge of global and local trends and best practices.

      • Experience establishing and maintaining “tone from the top” and promoting a culture of risk and compliance within a complex three lines of defence model, building upon culture, values, and behaviour.

      • Able to work in fast paced environment, keep pace with technical/operational/business innovation and maintain a broad understanding of the business strategic priorities.

      • Global experience highly desirable
