- Lead the operational delivery of learning responses under the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), ensuring high-quality investigations and timely outcomes.
- Oversee the governance and tracking of patient safety incidents, embedding robust systems that drive learning and improvement across the Trust.
- Ensure the Trust's Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP) is fully implemented, aligned with national standards, and responsive to emerging risks.
- Drive the delivery of clinical harm reviews and ensure learning is translated into action.
- Maintain oversight of risk registers, ensuring risks are accurately reported, reviewed, and escalated as needed.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, clinicians, and external partners to embed a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Lead on the development and delivery of training and education programmes to build safety and risk capability across the organisation.
- Represent the Trust at key internal and external forums, championing excellence in patient safety and risk management.
- Act as deputy to the Associate Director of Quality for Patient Safety and Risk, providing leadership and continuity in their absence.
- Support the Associate Director in the recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of staff within the Patient Safety and Risk team.
- Quality assure the outputs and deliverables produced by the team, ensuring they meet the required standards of accuracy, clarity, and impact.
- Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of training and education programmes related to patient safety and risk management, including the development of teaching materials and presentations tailored to staff needs across the Trust.
- Prepare and present high-quality reports and briefings for key corporate committees, including the Quality Governance Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Risk Committee, and Chief Officers meetings.
- Represent the Trust at external meetings, networks, and forums, acting as an ambassador for
- UHCWs approach to patient safety and risk management.

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) is seeking a dynamicHead of Patient Safety and Riskto drive the delivery of our Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and lead robust governance of learning responses across the Trust.
In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with senior leaders to embed a culture of safety, ensure high-quality incident investigations, and operationally support our Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP).
