      JOB PURPOSE

      BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

      As the Head of Communications, you will create a Communications strategy in line with the business priorities. This will be through agreed messaging to promote BAE Systems Arabian Industries across a series of developed, managed and maintained communications channels, including online activities, events, internal and external communication.

      JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

      Reporting to the Director of Communication, you will create and develop the Communications strategy with agreed plans that are aligned to the business’ priorities. Main activities will be to create strategic communications campaigns, supporting business development/winning activities and employee engagement initiatives, increase brand awareness, supporting and guiding stakeholders to deliver engaging content to our employees and external audiences including media, via various communication channels. The role holder will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

      · Develop and implement strategic communications plans to support business priorities, working closely with the communication director and leadership team

      · Build effective internal relationships and networks to develop strategies and plans, gather content from around the business and map out key messages to tell our story of achievements and capabilities into a content narrative to highlight through our communications channels, both internally and externally.

      · Support the Director of Communication enabling effective engagement with our employees through various communication tools and channels: email, videos, blogs, artwork-infographics, intranet, internal employee app to deliver key messages

      · Manage employee events from start to finish, along with a creative theme that links back to our values.

      · Collaborate with communications colleagues across the group of BAE Systems Saudi businesses through joint initiatives and share best practice.

      · Continuously monitor all internal and external content to ensure it is on brand and consistent with tone of voice and is supporting the business strategy.

      · Manage the comms team within BAE Systems Arabian Industries, including internal external and events, to ensure performance of the function, delivering support to the business and its strategy.

      RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

      · Extensive experience in a previous PR and/or communications roles

      · Ideally educated to university standard with strong numeracy and English literacy skills.

      · Knowledge of digital media communications techniques and channels.

      · A good communicator with good interpersonal skills who will be required to deal with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.

      · Experience of developing, creating and managing promotional campaigns, marketing and PR activities with associated costs and working to budget restraints.

      · Experience of Event Management.

      · Complete understanding of key functions relating to marketing and communication strategies and initiatives whilst managing multiple work streams.

      · Excellent stakeholder management.

      · Some experience in team management

      · Computer literate and able to effectively use MS Office applications and a good understanding of Content Management Systems.
