      The EO Communications team is responsible for crafting and managing earned media opportunities and output, which improve the brand’s reputation and presence across the European region.

      The team has a critical job to lead risks affecting the business and supporting all business units to handle those issues. Being a part of this team means you get exposure right across the organisation and have to quickly understand new products, technologies and be on top of the fast moving regulation in the industry.

      The PR and Events team combines earned media and influencer relations, experiences and events as well as trade shows where Samsung is an exhibitor. We work across all products, from Smartphones, TVs, Washing Machines and Vaccum Cleaners. We are present in big cultural moments like the Olympics, major blockbuster film releases, gaming, music, filmmaking and home design and connected living.

      Role and Responsibilities

      Your key responsibilities

      • This role is to lead product PR in Europe. That covers all new product launches, across mobiles, wearables, home appliances (refridgerators, ovens, hobs, air conditioning, vacuum cleaners etc.), displays/monitors and TVs. There will also be non-prioritiy products such as b2b focused devices, the role will also connect into our SmartThings teams.

      • This role needs to make sure we communicate our product benefits clearly and simply to our target audiences in Europe.

      • Taking the lead to develop new strategies to launch new products, new categories and bring excitement to media and consumers across Europe

      • Product communications strategies should be developed in collaboration with global and regional product teams and local communications teams.

      • A key part will be to ensure we are proactively sustaining momentum of priority products to ensure they top of mind for buying audiences when they are in market.

      • You will work with the exisiting product PR team to support the development of PR strategies in Europe and understanding the business priorities to make strategic decisions on key focus areas.

      • You will own the development of product PR in Europe, helping to level-up teams across the region

      • You will be required to develop new ways to tell our product stories and support the commercial goals of the business

      Your key people management responsibilities

      • Provide clarity on strategy, team purpose & value and define the key areas of focus and direction.

      • Support the development of your team through regular mentoring, coaching and feedback, 1:1s and on the job learning opportunities.

      • Role model inclusion for your team to build trust and psychological safety.

      • Ensure communication with your team is a core focus area including cascade of information from LT’s and relevant business updates.

      • Manage the on boarding, off boarding process and the entirety of the colleague lifecycle process for all team members.

      • Manage all annual people management cycles such as goal setting, evaluation and salary reviews to a high quality and in a timely manner.

      • To be accountable for ensuring your team are compliant with company processes and procedures; such as compliance, meeting mandatory business cyclical deadlines, and understanding the company values.

      What we need for this role

      To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

      • You will have experience in-house or agency level PR

      • This role requires experience managing major product launches on a regional and global level

      • Experience in managing large scale events for media and influencers

      • A abilty to think strategically and execute campaigns on a regional basis

      • Although a broad set of experiences is preferable some experience in technology is desired

      • The person in this role should be a team player, able to lead but also work within a team to understand that good ideas can come from anywhere and they need to be adaptable to the fast paced world at Samsung

      • Essential Hard Skills:

        • Tech and Consumer PR experience

        • Proven track record of delivering product-specific campaigns as part of a team, working on multiple projects for multiple partners at the same time

        • Line management experience

        • Understanding of PR data and tools

        • Confident

      What does success look like?

      • We have a broad and deep product portfolio which is frequently updated. You will need to be able to understand the right level of technical detail a well as think about the target audience communication needs in order to develop the right communications tactics.

      • Success will be seen in the brilliant execution of up coming product launches, measured against a combination of hard PR metrics and qualitative feedback from the teams across the region

      • We are looking for someone who can quickly get up to speed with the internal processes, who will be able to adapt quickly to the needs of the business

      • You will be recognised as a leader in the team and will be expected to drive the team forward with new thinking, challenging the status quo and learning from others in the industry, building on your exisiting experience to develop new product PR strategies
