      Signify is in a leading position as the lighting industry transitions from conventional to LED technologies and now moves toward connected lighting. We are looking for an experienced Head of Public & Government Affairs , who reports to the CEO Netherlands & Global Business Leader LED and is based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The geographical area of responsibility is Netherlands/Benelux. Are you passionate about public affairs and government relations and bring commercial savviness, then we would love to hear from you!

      The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage with the public, government officials’ policy makers and other stakeholders to promote the company's interests and objectives.

      Given our extensive corporate, manufacturing, R&D and commercial operations in the Netherlands, maintaining close relations with regional (e.g. Brainport) and national government stakeholders is crucial. You will particularly be responsible for all monitoring and advocating policies and issues related to Signify’s corporate activities and fiscal instruments for innovation. You support the CEO of Signify NL and play a key part in external engagement with public and private leaders while driving our innovative storytelling. You will close collaborate with the Netherlands management team, Signify’s external communications, and relevant corporate, business, and operations functions.

      Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement

      Develop and implement strategies to engage with public officials, policymakers, and stakeholders at regional (e.g. Brainport) and national levels to promote Signify’s interests and objectives.

      Represent Signify in external engagements, including trade associations, advisory boards, and industry groups (e.g., VNO-NCW, FME, Brainport).

      Coordinate advocacy efforts with industry associations and partners.

      Policy Monitoring & Advocacy

      Monitor and analyze public policy issues and legislative developments impacting Signify’s corporate activities and innovation-related fiscal instruments.

      Advocate for favorable policies and recommend appropriate responses to senior management.

      Communication & External Representation

      Collaborate with the Communication Specialist to prepare and distribute communication materials, including press releases, speeches, and presentations.

      Organize and participate in public events, meetings, and hearings to represent the company's interests and enhance its reputation.

      Internal Collaboration & Strategic Support

      Support the President of Signify NL in external engagements and contribute to innovative storytelling.

      Collaborate closely with the Netherlands management team, external communications, and relevant corporate, business, and operations functions to align public affairs strategies with company objectives.

      Candidate profile

      You have a university or applied sciences level in public and government affairs. In addition, you bring following experiences and competencies:

      • Significant experience in government affairs, with a relevant network (a.o. in The Hague and Brussels)

      • Excellent diplomacy, interpersonal, and communication skills, and a high level of integrity

      • Ability to build and interact with stakeholder networks (governments, NGO’s, trade partners, peer companies)

      • Influencing skills on the position of the industry, or position/policies of a government

      • Understanding of sustainability and knowledge with experience in this dimension

      • Charismatic, extravert, approachable with an inclusive style

      • Able to work with different organization levels (minister but also assistant of ministers)
