      Job summary

      West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an innovative and future-looking individual to lead the technical delivery service in our digital services department. This is a new role that has arisen to oversee the operational and strategic delivery of our technical infrastructure.

      The role will form part of our digital senior leadership team; you will be expected to line manage the existing technical services as well as look forward to the next one to three years and deliver a roadmap of improvements, optimisations and stabilisations. Our teams support technical infrastructure across acute and community locations for the Trust and alliance partners.

      This role would suit an applicant who has substantial experience within cyber security, servers or cloud infrastructure, networking and/or telecoms. You will need to have experience of working closely with service delivery teams in engineering and service desk colleagues. Experience in managing teams is essential, as well as change management or service improvement. You will be expected to lead by example in supporting our colleagues to develop and improve through their careers.

      Main duties of the job

      This role as head of technical delivery is responsible for the delivery of the technical service within digital services. Digital systems, applications and solutions are critical to the whole Trust as well as regional and national requirements and support a wide range of vital clinical and operational services. The Trust is highly dependent on these digital resources being managed efficiently and effectively.

      The postholder will be an expert in digital infrastructure and have lead responsibility for a number of strategic and operational priorities regarding the technical infrastructure that supports the organisation. Priorities will be planned, reported on and delivered using appropriate project / programme management approaches.

      The head of technical delivery will be responsible for the technical infrastructure across multiple sites and community locations. The portfolio will also include information security and cyber. There is a strong focus on ensuring strong digital foundations and keeping the Trust operational using high quality, robust infrastructure.

      This role is responsible for managing the teams who deliver this service, ensuring that staff are supported using the Trust's existing policies and procedures. The post holder will work with the other senior managers within the department to deliver the digital strategy and closely align with the Trust's objectives, strategies and plans.

      • Educated to Masters level including qualifications in digital, IT, change, management or transformation, or equivalent experience.
      • PRINCE2 or equivalent project/programme management qualification from recognised professional body (e.g. APM, PMI)
      • Evidence of recent continuous professional development, including leadership/management and professional skills relevant to the post (e.g. technical courses, leadership/management courses, staff development, business cases)

      Desirable
