Leads development of a new approach to field engineering, the contribution to development of project plans, and the coordination and execution of field engineering projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Part of the Production & Technology management team in the region (NAM & CSA) and is leading the cross-regional Technology & Engineering team.

• Responsible for the CapEx planning (including 5 years forecasting), steering and management for one of the regions (NAM & CSA) incl. the asset share of other Evonik Business Lines (BL’s).

• Ensures the integration of new M&A assets into the BL´s CapEx planning process.

• Responsible for the steering of large and/or complex investment projects of the business line Care Solutions.

• Responsible for the regional engineer´s resource planning and allocation (internal and external resources) based on the investment budget of the business line Care Solutions.

• Provides coordination, development and management of strategic transformational processes/projects and initiatives (e.g. digitalization, sustainability).

• Ensures the strategic development and implementation of engineering excellence practices.

• Recruits, develops and mentors new and existing engineers within PT as part of the BL´s talent pipeline.

• Enforces continuous scouting and evaluation of new technologies as part of the strategic development of the business line Care Solutions and ensures the cross-regional roll-out of those new technologies.

• Interacts with other technology providers within Evonik and externally (universities, etc.).

• Overlooks the facilitation of Process Safety activities and Process Safety Study programs to support the BL´s safety goals.

• Provides coordinated resourcing for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.

REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of progressive experience in the chemical industry, ideally 7+ of which includes working in an engineering capacity in a highly regulated environment.

• Bachelor’s in chemical engineering or similar required.

• Master’s or PhD in chemical engineering preferred.

• Project management skills associated with delivering multi-million dollar projects on-time and within budget.

• Stakeholder management from operational staff to senior management.

• Ability to develop and establish a strategic vision.

• Demonstrated ability to align and develop an engineering organization (Project Engineering, Process Engineering, Plant Engineering, etc.).

• Experience working within a matrix organization and multicultural environment preferred.
