From day one, our mission has been to create an independent business with a unique culture – one that is controlled by the people who work for it. Finding the most talented and entrepreneurial people has always been key to our success.

People come to Howden for lots of different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. That’s what sets us apart, and why we nurture and retain the best talent in the market. Whatever your priorities – work/life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering - you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.

We are seeking a proficient and forward-looking Head of Threat Intelligence, Education, and Training to join our Cyber Reinsurance Broking team, spearheading our initiatives in delivering threat intelligence, comprehensive cybersecurity training, and advisory services to our clients.

      Position Overview:

As the Head of Threat Intelligence, Education, and Training, you will be a driving force in enhancing our clients' cyber resilience through education and strategic guidance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and collaborate with clients to develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs, threat intelligence updates, portfolio assessments, newsletters, and scenario design. Your technical acumen and strategic insights will be crucial in guiding our clients toward informed cybersecurity decisions.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Develop and deliver comprehensive cybersecurity training programs to clients, covering a range of topics tailored to different audiences.
      • Collaborate with clients to conduct cybersecurity portfolio assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing actionable strategies for improvement.
      • Create and distribute monthly/quarterly newsletters, threat alerts, and advisories, providing timely insights into emerging threats and best practices.
      • Work closely with the Data & Analytics team to analyse and calibrate scenarios from a technical perspective.
      • Develop bespoke scenarios for clients and reinsurers to stress test their portfolios and manage downside risk.
      • Assist negotiations with reinsurers and alternative capital providers to substantiate our view of risk.
      • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and industry trends to enhance the quality and relevance of training materials and advisories.
      • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and cyber security expert.
      • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and portfolio assessments, continuously improving content and approaches.
      • Stay informed about evolving regulatory requirements and compliance standards in cyber security, ensuring alignment of services.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate threat intelligence insights into broader risk management and insurance strategies.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
      • Commercial experience in cyber security & threat intelligence, with a demonstrated track record of leadership.
      • Strong technical understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
      • Experience in developing and delivering cyber security training programs.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
      • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
      • Empathetic and client-centric attitude, with the ability to build strong relationships.

      Why Join Us:

      • Play a pivotal role in advancing our threat intelligence, education, and training initiatives.
      • Contribute to enhancing cyber resilience across a diverse range of clients.
      • Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts dedicated to pushing the boundaries of cyber security.
      • Competitive compensation package, including benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

If you are an experienced cyber security professional with a passion for educating and empowering clients to enhance their cyber readiness, we encourage you to apply and be at the forefront of our mission to provide top-tier threat intelligence, education, and training services. While this role may not currently involve team leadership, there may be opportunities for expansion into a leadership role in the future.

      Our Culture: People First

We’ve travelled far since opening our first office in 1994. Back then we were local experts – based in London, with direct access to the world’s biggest insurance market. We’re still locals, and we still deliver the right advice and the right insurance to our clients. But now, we’re local all over the world. With 15,000 global colleagues and a partner network spanning more than 100 territories, we are the largest independent insurance broker in the world. But our values haven’t changed since day one, when we set out to create a company grounded in:

      • An employee-ownership model
      • Aligned external investors
      • The trust and integrity born of friendship
      • Expertise
      • Independence

Our focus on being a people-first business has always been at the very heart of Howden. Our vision was to create an independent business with a unique culture; one that would survive and thrive as a business controlled by the people working for it. Our employee ownership model sets us apart in the market. It’s created a culture of collaboration and innovation, where we’re driven to think bigger and empowered to challenge convention.

Our flat structure and entrepreneurial spirit help us attract the best people and empower them to be the best version of themselves. And when we bring in and nurture great talent, more follows. That makes us better – and that’s better for everyone.

      Diversity & Inclusion

At Howden we consider our people our chief competitive advantage and as such we treat colleagues, candidates, clients, and business partners with equality, fairness and respect, regardless of their age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marital status or family circumstances.
