- 12+ years of experience in analytics, commercial or customer
- Preferred Master’s in Marketing, Statistics, Computing, Commerce or related analytical field
- Deep expertise and experience across a wide range of analytical disciplines: Data science, Behavioural Analytics and Segmentation.
- Sophisticated people and influencing skills. Deep experience and expertise in: Inspiring and leading teams and building trust and effective working relationships, and exerting influence with executive and senior leadership.
- Deep problem-solving ability: Able to leverage deep technical expertise, commercial and strategic thinking, and ability to think laterally to inform solutions and ability to integrate inputs from a wide range of disciplines in designing a solution.
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate highly complex topics in a way that can be understood by less technical stakeholders
- Strategic planning and change management; Ability to set strategy, leveraging a deep understanding of business needs and external industry trends. Ability to design and govern complex project plans for the delivery of key strategic initiative

The Head of Tribe Data, Analytics and Strategic Initiatives role leads the strategic insights and commercial performance analytics functions at a Tribe level within Qantas Loyalty. Each Commercial Tribe at Qantas Loyalty counts data & analytics as a critical competitive advantage, with this role being accountable for designing, delivering and evolving this capability for the specific business model and operations of the Tribe. This position leads the data and analytics strategy, roadmap and delivery for the largest commercial Tribes in the Qantas Loyalty business (e.g. Commercial Tribe, B2C Tribe) and is viewed as a part of the Tribe Leadership team (peer to Heads of Commercial and Marketing). This position sets the data and analytics roadmap and prioritises the pipeline of work to achieve the optimal commercial value outcomes. It is responsible for determining the Tribe’s data needs (breadth and accessibility) into the future, and for determining how these needs will be best met. It also leads how analytics is performed and governs its usage in decision making to ensure the work directly translates to value –either through improved decision-making, marketing outcomes or customer experience.
