      Job Description

      The Head of US Market Access and Reimbursement will lead a team to develop and execute market access strategy in the US prescription market and support Galderma in its next stage of evolution. Reporting to the Head of US Prescription Business Unit, with a dotted line reporting to the Global Head of Market Access, this person will play a central role in building the company’s success in the US. The role is responsible for building and leading the US Market Access and Reimbursement function for Galderma Prescription products with a primary focus on establishing the US payer and reimbursement organization required to successfully launch Galderma’s lead pre-commercial biologic product in atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis.

      The Head of US Market Access and Reimbursement is accountable for the overall market access launch plan for prescription products, including strategy for pricing, payer reimbursement, payer contracting and formulary coverage. The role is also responsible for building and managing the specialty distribution function. The role requires a self-starter who is highly driven, collaborative, and can lead with influence in a matrix organization. They should be an expert in US market access dynamics and reimbursement complexities. The role will play an integral role in shaping and building a fit for purpose U.S. market access organization to support future launches.

      Essential Functions-

      Serve as the primary market access point of contact for the US region ; ensure inline and pipeline Franchise Heads are supported on all access related topics

      Build the access strategy, payer account, field reimbursement, and specialty pharmacy distribution teams that will be needed to ensure a successful launch of Galderma’s first prescription biologic asset in atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis

      Champion pricing and reimbursement requirements throughout commercialization and ensure alignment between all stakeholders internally; this includes identifying payer unmet needs, assessing pricing potential, identifying access challenges and way to overcome, overseeing tactical execution plans, supporting payer negotiations as needed, etc.

      Collaborate with Global Market Access, Pricing, and Channel team to identify payer evidence needs and ensure appropriate evidence generation packages for in-line and pipeline products are created and deployed to ensure commercial access and reimbursement

      Gain senior management and cross-functional buy-in for US P&MA strategies

      Be accountable for the development of US market access deliverables, negotiation strategies, and national/regional market access tactics to secure price and reimbursement

      Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal and Finance), to ensure that plans are fit-for-purpose

      Provide P&MA perspectives in support of business development initiatives .

      Initiate, maintain, and tactfully influence relationships with various medical and non-medical stakeholders.

      Mentor individuals on the US Market Access and Reimbursement team Actively contribute to the annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting process.

      Other duties as assigned

      Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Undergraduate degree required, MBA and/or relevant post graduate qualifications preferred

      15+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience and minimum of 10 years in market access leadership positions, including building and leading payer account teams

      Established network of payer and PBM relationships

      Prior people management experience – especially managing payer account teams

      Track record successfully negotiating access for prescription products in competitive therapeutic areas in the US

      . Possess strong ‘executive presence’ and excellent communication skills

      Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in rapidly changing environment

      Travel - Position requires up to 30% travel
