      SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is seeking dedicated and passionate Head Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year in our Early Learning Center (Nursery-Kindergarten). We are looking for educators who foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in young children, while cultivating a warm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.


      Responsibilities:

      - Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum, lessons, and activities

      - Teach in a fair, warm, and open-minded environment with differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs

      - Conduct ongoing developmental evaluations of children, including anecdotal notes, to identify areas of strength and plan for areas of growth

      - Maintain effective classroom management strategies and routines

      - Create a well-organized and stimulating classroom environment that promotes exploration and independence

      - Foster clear, warm, and positive ongoing communication with parents, including weekly newsletters and photographs, progress phone calls, and parent-teacher conferences

      - Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and facilitate daily classroom experiences and special programs

      - Participate in school-wide responsibilities, including tefillah, lunch and recess supervision, arrival/dismissal, outdoor play, and specialty programming


      Qualifications:

      - Strong ability to build a warm, respectful, empathetic, and inclusive classroom community

      - Deep understanding of social, emotional, and cognitive development in early childhood and progressive education philosophies

      - Knowledge of integrated curriculum development and inquiry based learning

      - Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to teach integrated curricula around varied units of study and chagim

      - Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a structured yet joyful environment

      - Ability to differentiate instruction and expectations for a range of learners

      - Skilled in collaborative problem-solving, with flexibility and creativity in a dynamic setting

      - Background in current early childhood educational philosophy and best practices

      - Passion for nurturing student growth and creating joyful, engaging learning experiences

      - Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective teaching practice with a growth mindset
