    • Knowledge of Ohio Academic Content Standards for high school students, including required credits, acquisition of seals, state assessment and all competencies to meet graduation requirements
    • Experience working with the ED, LD, and other special education populations
    • Knowledge of or/experience in IEP writing and data collection
    • Valid, current HS Ohio teaching license - Special education license Preferred or obtain to work with a supplemental Special Education license
    • Trained in CPI/Non-Violent Crisis Prevention (or willing to be trained)
    • Knowledge or experience working with an online curricular platform (or willing to be trained)
    • Has an acceptable attendance record and is punctual
    • Attends to the mission statement of the Greene County ESC educational program
    • Monitors and supports individual student progress towards graduation.
    • Instructs/supports students in credit recovery platform, and monitors pacing of lessons for on-time graduation
    • Follows the established classroom management system, teaches social skills to the students and enforces PBIS defined rules for the program and school
    • Utilizes the daily system of documentation/information collection.
    • Constructs and coordinates the development of IEPs (if applicable), containing all necessary pertinent information and annual goals with short-term objectives for any identified students.
    • Successfully motivates at-risk students with a balance of consistent incentives and boundaries
    • Cultivates strong and reliable relationships of support and accountability with all students
    • For identified students, implements IEPs as they are intended. Provides progress reports as expected. Meets deadlines for special education requirements.
    • Documents weekly student lesson updates to reflect progress of each student’s learning on a weekly basis; holds weekly meetings with program team and program supervisor to review weekly data and plan for needed interventions
    • Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, decdent human beings.
    • Follows the policies and procedures for redirection of behaviors and disciplinary action for OA/Academy of Greene County students adopted by GCESC.
    • Participates in inservice training provided for the staff.
    • Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
    • Subscribes to the annual evaluation procedure for teaching staff.

    • Title: Head Teacher/Intervention Specialist - Academy/Alterative High School Grades 6-12
      Reports to: Director of Alternative Programs (Academy, Outdoor Advantage & Intensive Needs Classrooms)
      Employment Status: Full-Time, 183 days
      Salary Range: Dependent on experience, excellent benefits and competitive wages.
      FLSA Status: Exempt

      Qualifications:

      General Description: Under supervision, constructs and implements Individualized Success Plans for students with an end goal of earning/recovering required credits to obtain an on-time diploma; regularly analyzes individual student lesson completion (daily/weekly basis) to ensure student is successfully progressing toward recovering credits, and meeting all learning targets; participates in team meetings, and parent communication to share information pertaining to the Individual Success Plan or IEP, (if relevant).
