      Band 5 - Health Adviser Assistant

      56 Dean Street, London W1D 6AQ

      56 Dean Street is an award winning HIV and Sexual Health service based in Soho in the heart of London's West End.We are looking for skilled and dynamic Health Advisor Assistants to join our team.

      As a Health Adviser Assistant you will be responsible for results management, this includes the recall of patients with sexually transmitted infections requiring treatment, and/or partner notification.

      The post also has a clinical component in providing HIV testing, assessment for HIV Post Exposure Prophylaxes (PEP) and sexual health screen including venepuncture and processing samples.

      Dean Street is the busiest clinic in Europe and the post holder would need to be able to work in an always changing environment.

      Previous experienceis essential in HIV/Sexual Health,managing positive results, being able to offer skilled compassionate advice and care to our service users.

      Main duties of the job

      • To assess individual patient needs and requirements without supervision.
      • To be competent in the following, with appropriate training: Venepuncture Point of care testing, Asymptomatic screening.
      • To facilitate effective communication with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure appropriate input into patient care discussions.
      • To provide information to patients diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection: how they are acquired, transmitted and treated.
      • To provide effective partner notification to ensure contact(s) attendance and treatment as detailed in the PN policy.
