      Skiatook Public Schools is currently seeking applicants for a health assistant for the 2025-2026 school year.


      School-Base Health Assistant


      Position Summary: Under supervision of a licensed School Nurse, the health assistant will
      facilitate timely access to school-based healthcare, assist with basic first-aid needs, and perform
      accurate record keeping and reporting.

      Essential Duties:
      1. Effectively manages flow of clinic/office by receiving students and determining reason
      for visit and assistance needed.
      2. Assists nurse in the provision of basic care.
      3. Administers medications and treatments as directed by a licensed physician and district
      policies and procedures.
      4. Performs basic first aid procedures.
      5. Maintains accurate medical records, logs and reports.
      6. Orders supplies and maintains clinic stock.
      7. Sanitizes and maintains equipment.
      8. Contacts parents to disseminate student medical information.
      9. Stays abreast of and adheres to all federal, state and district regulations.
      10. May perform additional duties as assigned.


      Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
      - High School Diploma or GED
      - 1-2 years of healthcare and/or clerical experience


      Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
      · Current CMA or CNA license preferred
      · Effective written and verbal communications skills
      · Excellent customer service skills
      · Ability to remain calm and assist during moderately stressful situations

      Physical/Mental Requirements:
      - Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the
      computer.
      - Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and
      other required duties.
      - Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately
      with others in person and on the telephone.
      - Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25
      pounds.
      - Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
      - May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends,
      under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict
      deadlines.


      Work Environment:

      - Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled environment.

      Salary:
      - Based upon experience.


      Work Hours/Days:
      7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
      Monday-Friday (based on days school is in session)
      177 days per school year

      Skiatook Public Schools offers competitive pay and benefits including paid holidays and health benefits. Starting salary will be based on applicant qualifications and/or work history.

      The district also provides on-site daycare for staff members.

      Any offer of employment is contingent upon the passing a felony criminal background check and approval by the Board of Education.

      Title 1 District - Skiatook Public Schools is a Title 1 district.
