      Job summary

      Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant looking to join a supportive and progressive general practice team? We are looking for a motivated HCA to join our large, friendly nursing team, working across four of our GP surgery sites.

      Whether you're looking for full-time hours or part-time flexibility, we can offer a working pattern to suit you. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in general practice, or from another healthcare setting, who is keen to grow and develop within a welcoming environment.

      Main duties of the job

      As an HCA within our practice, youll support the nursing team in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Your role will include:

      • Taking basic observations (BP, pulse, temperature, etc.)

      • Wound care and dressings

      • B12 and other intramuscular injections

      • NHS Health Checks and health promotion

      • General clinical admin and support to the wider team

      Youll need to be confident using IT systems to record notes and navigate patient records experience with System One is helpful but not essential. Training will be provided where needed.

      Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties:

      • Carry out basic clinical observations (e.g. BP, pulse, height/weight, temperature)

      • Perform NHS Health Checks and promote healthy lifestyle advice

      • Undertake wound care and dressings under direction of nursing staff

      • Administer B12 and other intramuscular injections/ vaccines as per protocol and training

      • Assist with chronic disease monitoring (e.g. blood pressure checks, urine testing)

      • Perform ECGs

      • Support the vaccination programme (e.g. flu clinics), depending on experience

      Administrative Duties:

      • Record patient information accurately on the clinical system (System One)

      • Maintain clinical stock levels across sites

      • Communicate with patients via telephone or in person, in a professional manner

      • Liaise with the wider practice team to ensure coordinated patient care
