- To work as part of the Nursing Team undertaking household support tasks and direct care tasks as delegated by the Nurse in Charge.
- To support the qualified Nursing Staff in the maintenance of high standards of nursing care to patients.
- To assist in providing an environment within the ward that is conductive to patient recovery and pleasant for patients and their families.
- To accept responsibility for specifically delegated functions within the ward which the Nurse in Charge feels are appropriate for untrained staff to undertake.
- To ensure where entries are made in nursing documentation, that these are correct, legible and comprehensive and countersigned by a registered nurse.
- To understand and adhere to all Trust Policies.
- To ensure the Health and Safety of patients, relatives and other staff is considered and not prejudiced by the post-holder at any time.

- NVQ Level 2 (Ideally in Health Care) or equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience
- Care Certificate, or willing to work towards upon appointment
- Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role

- Experience within a care setting
- Excellent communication skills & effective record management
- Ability to manage time and priorities effectively

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Healthcare Assistant on - Duffy Suite Intermediate Care, which is a 28 bedded facility based at St Helens hospital .
This role and will expose you to new experience; working within a multidisciplinary environment providing acute medical care and rehabilitation
As an important part of the team, you will be expected to work both independently and alongside your colleagues to provide the highest level of patient care.
We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Healthcare Assistant with a passion for pro-active, Patient Centred Care. You must be dynamic, enthusiastic and well organised to blend well with an excellent team of Nursing, Therapy and Medical colleagues. The role is responsible for ensuring high quality; effective nursing and therapy interventions that is delivered to all patients admitted to our unit.
