      About us

Garforth Medical Practice is a training practice which cares for over 14000 patients. We are across 2 sites and have a team of 11 GP's, ANP's, Practice Matron and a large team of care coordinators and administrative staff. Our Practice Nursing Team consists of 6 Practice Nurses, a Phlebotomist, 2 HCA's and a Nursing Associate from the local PCN.

The Garforth Medical Practice is a general practice that is accessed by the immediate population of the area and has evolved steadily over the years. The main practice covers the Garforth area in the east of Leeds and is mainly suburban with a smaller outlying semi rural population. At the present time our list size is around 15,000.

There are two surgeries, the main surgery being in Garforth. The branch surgery is in the nearby village of Barwick in Elmet approx 3 miles away. Patients can, and do, attend any of the surgeries, but normally attend the nearest surgery for most of their services. The branch site is a dispensing surgery.

We also provide care and services for 3 Residential/Nursing Homes

The practice is located in an attractive and fairly affluent area. Being on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Leeds and having easy access to the M62 motorway and M1/A1 link, combined with excellent railway communications makes this a very desirable area to live. There are excellent schools and ample good quality housing.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
