Job summary
Health Care Assistant - 33 hours per week - Monday to Friday, to include additional hours on enhanced access rota (Monday PM)
This exciting and varied role has become available due to a current team member retiring. The successful applicant will be part of a very supportive Nursing team comprising a Clinical Manager, two Nurse Practitioners, five Practice Nurses and three Health Care Assistants.
If you enjoy working in a team environment, sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues, building a relationship with patients and contributing to their long term health and welfare then this could be the job for you.
Main duties of the job
New patient health checks
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Removal of Sutures
Dressings (as appropriate)
B12/Influenza & pneumonia Vaccinations
Assisting Minor Operation & coil clinics
INR Testing and monitoring, POCT, calibration.
Chaperoning patients
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses, replenishing clinical rooms & stores.
Sending equipment to CSSD for Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted. Working closely with the frailty team and low carb club.

The Practice is CQC rated Outstanding. We work from bright, modern, purpose built premises. You will be part of a larger team consisting of eight GPs, GP Registrars, Practice Manager and Deputy, two Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician, a Paramedic, IT and Operations Managers, Patient Care Navigation Manager and Team, Secretaries and two Summarisers. We are a training practice and the emphasis is on regular team skill updates.
