      Job summary

      We are looking to employ a part- or full-time HCA to expand our clinical team

      Sunny Meed Surgery is a well-established, friendly training practice that has a dedicated clinical and administrative team. Being one of the fastest growing practices in Surrey, we are looking to expand our already established clinical team to bring in a Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team to provide patient care services.

      The post-holder will look after specific patient cohorts and work on each stream according to the demand (e.g. booking patients for long-term health conditions).

      Our practice covers three sites: Sunny Meed Surgery, Heathside Road, Goldsworth Park and Greenfield. Sunny Meed Surgery is minutes away from Woking railway and bus stations and has a free car park.

      Our clinical team consists of GPs, Paramedic Practitioner, clinical pharmacists, first contact physios, nurse practitioners, Nurses and HCAs. The practice is supported by an experience administrative team, which includes secretaries, administrators and receptionists.

      Main duties of the job

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Blood tests, New patient and NHS health checks, ECG, Spirometry, Smoking Cessation, Blood Pressure, ABPMs, ear syringing, HRT and diabetes part 1 checks, vaccinations
      • Chaperoning duties
      • Cleansing and maintenance of equipment
      • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
      • Equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
      • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
      • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
      • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
      • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
      • Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

      On top of the employment benefits, we love to have a bit of fun. Some things we did include: the ice cream van and a coffee van came to the practice, we hosted a pottery painting session with pizza, and we had great evenings out bowling and at the pub. We also completed a virtual walking challenge around the British coastline competing against other Surrey practices.

      Last year we had a lovely summer party including our partners and children and a great Christmas party. We also have a Sunny Meed book club who meet regularly as well as our practice own well-being programme. These are just some things we do to make this a great place to work!
